Why do Hispanics assume I speak Spanish?

Many situations where I specifically got stopped by Hispanics and they start spending to me In Spanish and I am not Hispanic at all I’m from Europe so is that normal for Hispanics or I’m misunderstanding something?

Maybe you look Hispanic, I can only assume you do or people wouldn't look at you and the first thing they feel the need to do is talk to you in Spanish

Who knows, maybe they assume that as a "White" woman you studied Spanish and would know how to speak it.. But I assume it's because you probably look like a Latina (Mestiza)..

Noo no but in general for Instance, this guy at work knows I’m Ukrainian and knows I speak English fluently still greets me always in Spanish and will throw out Spanish words at me through out conversations and that was my question to why? In you’re opinion

Okay, yeah maybe he just doesn't know too much English and by habit he speaks words in Spanish or maybe he's saying something offensive and is speaking Spanish knowing you don't understand it.. Lol
