If you stop talking to someone do you also stop talking to all their friends?

I'm on the fence with this one bc there are guys/gals I'll stop talking to which means I also have the blessing of not talking to the annoying people who insist on being in their lives (gold diggers and other shady sorts of people I was saying hi/bye to just to be polite). But then there are some folks who were friends of mine from way before, and I'll keep talking to THEM but will never mention the other person at all, as if the person never existed to begin with.

Some will say that's "cold" behavior, but tbh I just can't be bothered. I've always been "the nice girl" or the one who cares about making everyone feel welcome, but now... if I feel someone is shady I just want them to be as far away from me as possible.

Yeah I do. It's their friends and their social group. I don't wanna be the awkward guy that came into the group and caused some turmoil. Best to make a clean cut.

Even if you befriend their friends, I feel like it's just an unspoken rule that because they were their friends first, if something should happen, you should be the one to leave.

Obviously, not much is written in black and white and there may be scenarios where that's not the case, but I think most of the time, it is.

One gal I've known forever saw me at a thing that we were all attending. I said I wanted a pic with her and she said, "Sure... later..." and never came back. She of course thinks she'll get somewhere with the guy, but she won't he got tipsy enough and mentioned to someone that he's gay.

I stopped talking to all of my ex's friends and they stopped talking to me. It was too awkward. I haven't ran into any of them..

Not cold behavior if you were friends from way berore. That seems normal to me to keep being friends with those people

I still talk to my ex girlfriend's sister and she sleeps over

I do not do it on purpose but that is usually how it works out.

Depends the scenario. Example if my friend broke up with his boyfriend/girlfriend I would cut off all ties with them.
