Not all pets are valued at same level but dogs in particular are very much like having a child for many people. And other pets can show remarkable bonding to humans. It's only right they are treated well and not disposable

Corporations market pets to people by making them adorable and highlighting all the positives of owning a pet so they can take advantage of us and sell pet toys and pet food. Before pet toys and pet food animals ate food scraps and wrestled with opossums
