Would you slap your kid for doing something wrong?

Im 52 now and I remember doing something bad and my mom would slap me. I guess this question is for the older generation. Kids were taught differently back in the days vs now. Kids had more respect for others. Kids are raising kids today and they know nothing. As you watch the news and more bad news is from the young generation we have now. Is slapping your child not right in today's times?

When I was in my early teens I got Optimus prime transformers instead of a bday card for mom. She didn't like it at all. She slapped me for it. Whether I deserved it or not. That is nothing compared to the crap as kids we have now in society. I think each generation looks down at the newer one and think oh crap there's goes America.

if a kid around 1-2 running out to the street again.. yes a gentle hitting on the leg.. see that hurts.. if the car hits you out there it would hurt more so don’t run out to the street again.
children need to be disciplined… taught, raise properly with love, care, respect, responsibilities and discipline

the nonsense with kids growing up running the house is ruining our country.
parents have no idea how to be parents.

If the unmitigated consequences of that behavior included injury and/or death, absolutely. People are literally killing their kids by refusing to discipline them. More often than not those same idiots call discipline “abuse”. Very near the top of the long and growing list of reasons that western society is going to Hell in a hand basket.

No I wouldn't. Children mimic parents and there are better ways to discipline a kid. Children today does not lack respect because their parents did not hit them. But because parents are not setting boundaries or following up on bad behavior. Permissive lazy parents are to blame.
