How rude would you say this was?

A regular customer (iin her late 70's) we frequently see at the same supermarket was grieving the loss of her child. Her 51 year-old son died from a sudden cardiac arrest just last week. Someone else really commented that it would've been worse if she would've lost him so early in life, that at least he had a chance to live that long to accomplish some things in life.

Obviously that didn't make that lady feel better. That made her cry more. To her that was still her little boy. If you had to give it a rating, how rude was that comment?

I don't think it's rude because I have no reason to think this person had wrong intents, quite the opposite.

So, I think it's clumsy instead, not rude

It was thoughtless more than rude in my opinion only, cause 50 these days is young a child should never outli e their parents, parents biggest fear is burying their child its ok i mean it is a good poi t at least her son lived someone said thats still her little boy thats right a mothers bond with her children is something only a mother can experience i believe death is difficult enough but a mom losing her son i can not imagine Blessing
