How rude do you think this was of this person?

I ran into someone I knew.

I said hi they looked surprised.

while digging in my bag I was like I never run into people I know.

they said what? I repeated the above.

then a few seconds later while I was still digging in my bag they were like girl I got to go. Without waiting for me to say something back while walking away they said take care.

Isn’t take care another way of saying goodbye for good? Especially when someone doesn’t say something like we’ll talk later etc

I was most certainly not rude. You have to scan your pass as soon as you get down.

Also based on my previous interactions with her, I was hesitant to be a little too nice out of fear of how she may react back.

If it was truly that she was offended she would have waited for a few seconds and then left. She never really stopped walking away despite me saying hello to her.

In fact now that I think about it I think it's 10 times more rude than I had perceived it to be initially.

It may be rude but I hate running into people I know unless we are friends. Mainly because I can't stand ideal chit chat. I try to make my escape as quickly as possible.
