I told this person I have always been a huge fan of this celebrity.

Afterwards they said to me “I have never understood the hype around them.”

They were basically saying they don’t see what’s so special about this celebrity I really like.

Imagine another person said to you they don’t see what’s so special about a person you like. Would you feel offended by their comment?

As someone said before, they’re just voicing their opinion. Also, they aren’t attacking you or the subject, they are just sharing what they think.


It would be like if you said, “I love tomatoes!” And they said, “I don’t like tomatoes.”


There’s no reason to feel offended.


It would be different if they started attacking you because of your opinion by saying, “You’re stupid for loving tomatoes!”


THEN, that’s offensive.


But, if they are simply sharing how they feel about a certain topic, I don’t see anything wrong there.


You are allowed to dislike some things that they may like. And they are allowed to dislike some things that you may like.
