What are the best/worst apologies you've given/recieved?

I didn't think much of it actually at first but then I met my alter ego 👺in a dream last night and he was like "you're an asssshhhooollleeeee"

would you believe he arrested me? I had to go through the whole thing including he kept taking wrong turns to get to the station.

Usually I never say sorry because I strive for perfection so much that there's never a need.

Apologies have to be sincere at least , and have to contain “ I’m sorry “ , saying I apologize just doesn’t cut it.


A good apology contains an explanation of why they are “sorry” and what specifically they are apologizing for and what they should have done / said instead


If your going to be insincere or use “I apologize” then don’t bother


A good apology has to happen quickly , my brother attempted to apologize after us not speaking or messaging for 18 months , needless to say I told him to go **** himself , waiting that long just adds insult to the emotional injury.

Anything that begins with:

"I'm sorry that you feel..."

So, to recap:

A. You aren't sorry.

B. It's my feelings and hence my fault.

The best apologies I’ve received were simple and sincere.

No excuses, just someone acknowledging what they did and showing they genuinely understood why it hurt.

The worst ones are the kind that sound like an apology but shift the blame, like “I’m sorry you felt that way.” It doesn’t really take responsibility, so it doesn’t help rebuild trust.
