As a general rule, a girl I'm attracted to makes me want to spend more time with her.

A lot of time.

An amount of time I will certainly not feel incentivized to spend if she was a friend.

If she reciprocates then, to me, it means we have a more or less untold interest going on. This interest will eventually unfold and become obvious for everyone involved, over time.

Otherwise yes, married or not, everything starts as little interactions to me. But feelings caught, that depends on you, on how your feelings work, it's different for everyone
