Teens and parents: can you openly talk about personal topics?

Yes, I taught my kids’ to express themselves and to be honest over anything’ else , because lying and keeping secrets is only going to build up overtime and kick ya in the ass before you know it. So my kids’ tell me everything and they seem to love being able to do so , they are happier around me and happier in life by not burying shit deep down inside themselves

As a teen, I avoided talking about it, overall, because I noticed that my parents' opinions were not really interesting to me.

As a parent of a teen, my daughter openly talks about personal topics, and I'm glad she does.

I am not a teen but when I was I could totally talk about anything in front of my Mom and/or Dad.
