At what age did you move out of your parents’ home for the first time?

I just moved to an appartment alone for the first time at 21.

My parents probably thought I would never leave them, I was 26 when I found my own place to live 😄

But I was studying at night, with full time employment during the day, and I wanted the perfect scenario of meeting my life long partner, and buying my ideal home too, before I moved out.

Fortunately my parents put up with me all those years, and they give me the best chance of living the perfect lifestyle.

I left on my 16th birthday. Got myself to finish High School (drug money paid my rent) and then sat around until I was old enough to do the Military thing.

I got kicked out at 16 and then again at 22. My bio mom was jealous as hell of me, and like many white women, she waited nearly 10 years to have a second child. I moved in with my step mom in 1980, but my bio mom wanted emotional support after she was widowed for the second time, then she kicked me out again a year later. It was the old, 'We're gonna make your life miserable until you go to college' strategy. Needless to say, the strategy failed, and I was successful anyway.

16. Rented a two bedroom house with my girlfriend and a friend whose aunt owned the property. It was a dump. The front door didn't even latch. We had to use a bungee cord to keep it shut.

I never did. I inherited the house along with my brother and sister They were my best friends. I didn’t wanna live anywhere else. I felt like the family should be together and we were. I’ve even had my girlfriend living there. Viola

I came back home again within 6 months because us boys got behind in our rent so we did a runner on our landlord who lived 2 doors down and never looked back
