What’s the right age for kids to get their first phone?

I'd like to still give them a dumb phone at 13 and then a smart phone at 18.

😝 If they stop making dumb phones - hmm - then a smartphone at 13 "because all the other parents are doing it" - would be the logic of the wisdom of the crowd 🫤📱

I had my first phone, dumb phone, at 13. I think it was a flip phone. Or I had a dumb one before it. I just can't remember lol. Yet then I just stuck to a plain Nokia dumb 👀

The age at which they know how to operate the phone and use it appropriately or the age at which their parents are so fearful that something will happen to them that giving them a phone alleviates that fear to some extent. Whichever comes first.

Thirteen. I got mine at fourteen. But my little cousin had one at eight. I think that’s too young.
