Depends on the person. If it's my mother in law, about 3 seconds is to long. if it's my mother 4 hours it's to long. If it's my best friend, well she could move in if she wants XD

I’d say a month might be too long. It depends on my relationship with the person and what kind of guest they are. Some people are respectful and considerate when someone lets them stay over. They go above and beyond to make sure they’re not inconveniencing me. Those people can stay longer if they need to.

However, I wouldn’t put a time restriction on my siblings.

I guess it would depend on who it is and why they are staying with me in the first place and of their intentions are good, meaning they plan on not staying long and they are working to get back on their feet , then I wouldn’t complain, but if they are just sitting around not doing a thing , I wouldn’t let them stay long at all

If you are staying 2 consecutive nights on my couch please get that last breakfast on the road. Thanks.

I also live in a tiny apartment with one bathroom. If I had a real house and the guest could have their own bedroom/ bathroom/ solo space I'm sure I would be much more comfortable hosting for longer periods.

That's entirely up to you. I read once "Guests are like fish. Both stink after three days." You should agree on this before they arrive if possible. If someone won't take hints, you will just have to tell them "It's been nice seeing you, but it's time for you to go home."

When its a friend 2 days cuz I'm kind of played out by then and want to do my own thing. Family it can be however long since I don't need to entertain them or fake being nice constantly.

I understand. Some of my tenants run the other way when they hear my temper snap! 😂
I've found they are much easier to handle when they are afraid or at least uncomfortable when I have to explain things.

Well the official rule is two weeks but we have a big house so I don’t mind if they stay as long as they want as long as they’re not being annoying

I've been completely alone for years so, as long as we get on well together and they help out around the house and with the bills, for now, they can stay as long as they like!

two weeks is long enough anything past that becomes annoying unless you’re trying to take them in and have a game plan and help them get back on their feet that’s different

That depends on the guest. I have a few friends that are like family and have lived with some of them. I wouldn’t care how long they stay, but the couch is not very comfortable.
