Literally had two guys (excluding the one who’s comment I didn’t delete) ganging up on me under that post for saying the same thing that almost the majority of commenter said — it’s not OP’s business. OP’s friend and the child’s dad should’ve handled that legally rather than her inserting herself into a situation she knew nothing about and didn’t involve her whatsoever.

The men were on my ass about saying that lol because it’s true, OP didn’t know what type of man he is or why the friend chose not to involve him. She asked eventually but I’m not sure why she wouldn’t have done that first before meddling how she did. I don’t know how anyone is approving of that part.

Well I think anybody that as a child should be held back from seeing that child or knowing that that child is alive and born and is theirs

Not unless that parent had proof that that other parent would not be good for that child and she would be putting that Child In Harm's Way if she allowed him to know but like you said there's more to the story and in order to get a good answer or the right answer or close to the right answer we have to know the whole story

Me personally I would be devastated if a woman did that to me and had no reason behind her actions and Somewhere In Time the truth always comes out anyway

I didn’t think of this earlier, but I suspect OP may be a guy in disguise. A girl wouldn’t be that upset over unequal parenting rights, any more than very few men get in a frothing rage over the dominance of the patriarchy. She just wouldn’t.
