“Friends” was exceptional for its time because everyone on the show was an idiot. Granted: they made the guys out to be the bigger idiots by far, but it was contemporarily groundbreaking to make the women out to be idiots too. Most sitcoms have made men out to be morons or dirtbags, and made women out to be their flawless saviors. It’s been that way for decades.


“How I Met Your Mother” has some funny bits, but it still plays too strongly on negative male stereotypes and makes too light of atrocious behavior in women. That sh*t gets old really fast.


I just want some laughs. I’m tired of being told that i’m a POS by literally every media platform on the air.

HIMYM in the first season alone! The show unfortunately went on too long and turned Barney into a total pussy.. My favorite episode of Friends was the game of Cups!
