Someone who is a full blown adult in their 30s, 40s, or older but they're still stuck in the mindset of a teen or 21 year-old. Like they literally develop at the pace of a snail. If at all. Do you know anyone like that?

Long story. at 18 years of age I started learning to do the things that society demanded so that my family could survive. Job, Education, Dedication, move whenever necessary to stay on top of the wage wave and keep up the the inflation. Worked the jobs that the rest of so society did not seek. Made good flow but at the age of 59.5 years was asked to leave. First they tries to destroy my credibility as a professional. Then I was told that if I returned to work on Monday I would take a $40,000 per year pay cut. My Job was trashed, My retirement was trashed, I filed for bankruptcy, and ended up on the operating table for a triple bypass. I died. I was revived.
I assure you, I saw that other than loving your family, the rest of the grow-up concept is just a way to keep you in line. Testosterone laden mass of bovine defecation. So to answer your question: some people never grow-up. Some mature and grow-up only to find that it was the wrong thing to do. It is your life , do it your way. After all you are the one making the final analysis when you are lying on your death bed. Nobody gets a do over
So there's a real kind of growing up/maturing that we all have to do. I'm not talking immaturity as in still liking kid things, playing video games, etc. I mean immaturity as in low emotional intelligence, lack of crucial adult thinking skills, and still being mentally stuck in the past. At some point a person has to seriously grow beyond those things.
Absolutey, MOF if a man is scared of change, He will be stuck for the remainder of his life. A significant number of males are there. They can't love their spouses, or their children. Some of it is chemically induced and some of it is allowed due to affluence. I hate to admit it but we grow up because we have to.
I think that's kind of true. I work a pre-dominantly male job where almost all of the dudes around me have low emotional intelligence and that signature frat boy characteristic. It's fascinating to me how no matter where I'm sent on the job, or who comes to my office, it's almost always the same type of guys around me. Obsessed with cars, anime, weed, vaping, still stuck in an 18 year-old mentality, they love getting drunk, and they all have girlfriends or wives that deep down they're unhappy with. The moment a rare female has to work with us they're all over her or around her all day long. It can be the hardest and sometimes most annoying thing to deal with in a day.
Literally most of society. Always masking, never realising when its ok to just have fun, too much gatekeeping on what is "adult" behavior, yet next to none of them can communicate with eachother, many of them can't even do their adulting fully, too many are petty, too many want to play teenage bullshite like they're in highschool when it comes to romance, most of them don't even work on themselves to overcome their insecurities & traumawork, and most don't work on their emotional intelligence, wisdom, & maturity. I've seen people in their 60s never matured. Hell, one could easily say, 98% of society in the USA never matured from highschool.
Here's how to adult: understand what your insecurities are, acknowledge what your trauma reactions are, work on your emotional control to react logically rather than impulsively, take a moment to think if you're the problem, don't go out of your way to inconvenience others, if the relationship is toxic, talk about it with your partner, work your job, do your chores, pay your bills, budget, shop for food, manage your nutritional balance, prep for situations, be ok taking the cheaper option, make sacrifices, learn to be ok with slight inconveniences, push through slight inconveniences, understand what is a want vs a need, don't be petty, don't be abusive, control your anger, and once you finish adulting, enjoy what you enjoy whether it's meant for kids or not because the point is to enjoy having fun.
Yes! This is bombshell💣
"too many want to play teenage bullshite like they're in highschool when it comes to romance"
- That hit home. Seeing this crap from grown adults always makes cringe. I feel like we should be beyond that already.
Yes. I have a coworker who is 42 years old, but the consensus is that she never really matured much beyond 13 or 14.
Most guys who are happy tend to have some childish streak.
Yes, but that is not really what I mean.
Yeah, I have an uncle in his 40’s and he still acts like a frat boy in college
It's called The Peter Pan Syndrome
Indeed it is.
Thank you for confirming this real syndrome.
Yes me. Inside I am still a 16 year old kid I am trying to figure out how to get back
Yes my son is in his 40s and he acts like he’s in his early teens or a little younger then that
It actually quite embarrassing
Yeah, they're called retards. ^ That's one up there.

An ex of mine.

Me, I know me and still enjoy playing
Don't do it it's a trap.
Lol. Good one.
Me lol im still 17 inside.
Meh, you're 26 so kind of understandable. A lot of 20something year-olds are still teens in their heads lol.
Exhibit B here lol. I sometimes feel like I'm still acting like a teen in some cases, especially when crushing on someone. That's why I don't enjoy crushes.
Yep.
