I feel a bit silly saying this because I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but Felicity is honestly one of the easiest babies I've ever come across. She's nearly 3 months old and hardly cries unless she's hungry or tired. She's so chilled when we're out, sleeps through the night and seems really bright, picking things up quickly. Other mums have even accused me of lying when I've said she sleeps through!
I've spent so much of my life feeling like I'm rubbish at everything, even beating myself up over my parenting, so it's lovely to feel like I've actually found something I'm good at. I sometimes feel embarrassed when we're around other babies because she's so calm, and I worry other mums think I'm showing off.
She's also a beautiful baby. Everyone commented on her in hospital, including a midwife who said she was her favourite because she was so cute and easygoing. My husband's family has a modelling background, and my sisters and I were approached by scouts as children too.
A woman who lives next door to my mother in law works at the head office of a major UK clothing retailer. She's seen Felicity and suggested getting her into modelling for them. She's said she'd definitely book her, but we'd need to apply through the official website for safeguarding. The rate she's quoted is £80 an hour, although bookings are only occasional.
I'm considering it mainly because the money could go into savings for Felicity's future. My only hesitation is that I deliberately don't post her face on social media because of the risks, so I feel slightly hypocritical considering having her face in catalogues, shops and online instead. I'm also aware of the darker side of modelling if she wanted to continue when she's older. I think I'd consider it if I could supervise everything closely and make sure the money benefits her.

Thinking about it more with my husband and its something I really dont feel comfortable with. I love her too much and will find other ways of making sure she's financially secure when she's an adult

I can tell you’re a first time mom. It’s typical of you to think that any of your baby’s behavior is because of your mothering skills. One of my babies were like yours. Happy, never cried, slept through the nights from 2-3 days old, ate well. My two other kids woke up 15 times a night until 1,5-2 years old. One of them would not accept the stroller, car seat, crib, baby nest bed nothing but being carried around and sleeping right next to me on my matress. One of them was a happy sunshine baby who would just smile whenever you looked at him and almost never cried and slept well until 3 months old when he started crying multiple times one night and then just never stopped. Whined constantly and still does at 5 yo. Your baby has a personality and temperament, some babies have colocs and other things, it’s not a blank slate. You didn’t do anything that made your baby sleep well or not cry, it’s just how she is naturally. If/when you’ve had a few kids and experienced their differences you’ll realize that.
I was saying this too my husband earlier funny enough but maybe we just got lucky and it will get more difficult over time once we have more children. I personally do think some of her good behaviour is due to me. I know you can't really parent a newborn but im very attentive to her and spend a lot of time practicing new skills with her. Im not saying im special or any better then any other parents but I am proud of how well she's turned out so far and how well im coping. Its not always easy of course like I sais she cries when she's hungry or tired but only at home, she's also teething right now which is horrible but were managing it really well
Babies look pretty similar so I don't think it is likely someone will target yours.
Lol did you read what I wrote?
You should wait until she is old enough to make that decision for herself
Your probably right but I hate the idea of her modelling as an adult as its not so glamorous and easy work with womens modelling. Most of them models get into horrible situations
100% yes!
i'd say No
