Is it bad to invite my boyfriend over when I'm babysitting?

If the kid is asleep and its parents won't be home for 4-5 hours, could I get away with it? I know about nanny cams and that the parents could come home early..but we REALLY want to hangout and it will be too late after. Is this a HORRIBLY bad idea, or fine as long as we're smart about it and makes sure he leaves early. please answer asap the babysitting is in an hour and a half lol. thanks

my boyfriend would only stay for 30-45 minutes out of the 5 hours I'm there. the little boy will be asleep the whole time.

Bad idea.

You seem to care more about your boyfriend than the job you're going to get paid to do.

"It's" parents won't appreciate that your focus is with the wrong person.

They may also not like strangers in their home, especially when they're not there.

It's okay to turn down a job if you want to do something that day.

The anonymous guy above makes an excellent suggestion: rent a movie. Rent 2 of them, and that will kill most, if not all, of your time.

You are in a really responsible position caring for someone else child, and being in their home. They trust you to have you do that, so respect that and trust them back! Just ask if it's OK with them, and if they say No respect their decision. You're on thin ice if you go behind their back about this!

Bad idea!...What do you mean there are no jobs for people your age? I was 16 when I worked at a mall...my sister worked at a theatre. There are other job options for 18 year olds...Rent a movie or read a book...Do your homework...I'm sure you have that since you're still in hs...

Why don't you just ask the parents? When I was babysitting the parents never had a problem with me bringing someone. They probably are going to want to him but that's not an unreasonable request.

uimmm yeah the nannycam is making me very paranoid so I would say no because of that and because its probably not cool if you makeout or etc. While babysitting.

I would normally never do this but the kid is asleep before I get there and the parents are going to be gone for 5 hours. I have NOTHING to do. I understand your point but I just want to make it clear that I will actually be sitting on a couch watching tv and reading for 5 hours. its not like I'm hooking up while the kid is right there.

If you don't want do that, then don't. find another job, it'd probably pay better too. It says that your at least 18, so don't you think you're a bit old to be fooling around while babysitting someone else's kid? If you can't do it for 5 hours rent a movie, that'll kill about 2 hours...

I'm 18, a senior in high school and I'm doing this because my mom made me. its not like there are thousands of jobs for people like me. and I know it sounds dumb and whatever but yeah, right now in my life I care about my boyfriend a lot I'm in HIGH school. I understand your advice but your tone is rude.

Sorry if you took it as being rude, but that doesn't make it any less true. The fact of the matter is that you are being paid to babysit, not screw some guy in someone else's home. This is true regardless of whether or not you're in or out of HIGH school, so please stop using that as reason to excuse your immature behavior.
