Girls would you ever caress the hand of a "just friend?"

I have a female friend that I have known about 6 months. I like her, but I would not date her...it's a long story. Anyway, she has been very flirty of late and the other day when I was driving her home our hands touched on the center console. She grabbed my hand, interlocked our fingers and started caressing my hand with her thumb then other hand. Lasted maybe a minute or so.

The question is, do you think this is something that friends do? Is this a sign she likes me a little more then I think? Girls have you ever done that with a girl that is just a friend? Again, I am not interested in dating her, I just want to know so that I am prepared to let her down easy and save our friendship if it comes to that.

Unless she was comforting you about a situation ( which I doubt) she most definitely was hitting on you, unless 'she' was feeling down and just needed a hand to hold still and all she did it in a sensual mannner.

Yeah she was imagining she was in heaven at that moment...lol, I hope things are cleared in a decent manner.

Did her eyes sparkle at you, if yes, then she likes you! I have a guy friend who did/does that to me! He was making sure no one was looking and then he told me he was acting like he was taking me to prom! I love him yet I don't know if he feels the same even though he says "I love you" to me like 3 times a month! So confusing if he means it in a friendship way or not?! I don't know what to do in that situation!

It's a ver clear signal that she is ready for anything from you, and you are maybe already too late to let her down 'easy, since she's got a serious thing for you. She'll be distressed no matter how careful you are to try to spare her feelings.

Wait what now? Caressing my hand is a serious thing? I just thought it means she KINDA digs me a little. She has done held my hand for a minute or two a couple other times, but just squeezed it, not caressed it.

I've caressed, hugged, even jumped on my girlfriends before usually just playing though they go along with it too and we just laugh. I don't do that with guys though, unless I'm interested and trying to get their attention.

Yeah, it seems like she likes you. The best thing you can do if you want to save your friendship is to make sure you never have to let her down easily. Just ignore her signals, no matter how obvious, and maybe confide in her about a person that you do like. It sounds mean but it will let her know you have no interest without hurting her and your friendship.

I had a guy friend who did that with me and in was in front of a whole bunch of girls ,and he is the type of guy who wouldn't normally do that with anyone but to this day I don't know if he liked me or not because he transferred schools ,but I know that I enjoyed it the entire time and if I were to have done it to him it would have meant that I liked him,so maybe she does like you

It's definitely a sign. I would never caress a guy's hand randomly if I didn't like him as more than a friend.

I was not upset or anything, I just want to make sure there is no way I am miss reading this and making it a big deal when it isn't. I would hate you ask her about it and she just think she was being nice to me or "supportive friend" etc...

if it was after a heart-felt conversation between you guys that she caressed your had that way, then yes it could be to console/comfort you and to be there for you. But if it was random, then it's most probably because she likes you as more than a friend.
