He hides his girlfriend from me, talks to me daily & flirts with me!?

so I have a guy bestfriend. I do have feelings for him, but he has a girlfriend. he spends quite a lot of time with me. he has come to my dance recital which was 5-6 hours long. he blushes around me, teases me, calls me names, tells me everything he did this week (including details). texts me daily. we also work together, and we go on breaks every single time we work together.

we have been mistaken a lot to be in a relationship.

and, when he's around his girlfriend.. he acts akward. he doesn't have a "look" that shows he's interested in her as he does towards me.

he also doesn't like telling me if she came over to his house.

he will never tell me that he saw her, which I can't understand why he doesn't tell me if he's sooo into her?!

then, he has told me one time..

"well, you should see someone to make them happy"

why would a guy spend more time with his bestfriend and blush the way he does, but never does that towards his girlfriend?

does he really like me or what?

& would he actually break up with her?

If a guy has a female friend who is attractive odds are there is some level of interest there. From the description of things, it sounds like you are both probably interested in each other and either the timing hasn't been right or maybe ther was a worry of messing things up. It's scary to make the first move. He may have been interested and just assumed that you only wanted friendship. No you aren't trying to steal him or break them up but you have to admit that you wouldn't mind them breaking up. Most people would feel that way. I think you have to wait for now and let them fall apart. But when he's single, I think you should sit him down and talk. It's not easy to do. So maybe you'd have to find a clever way to approach the subject. You may just want to ask something like "Ever wonder what we'd be like as a couple?" Hang in there. It's not a bad thing to tell him that you would like to be more than you already are. Just because you discuss dating it doesn't mean that you have to.

If your point of view is accurate, I see two possibilities. One is that he likes you very much, and doesn't want to bring up the girlfriend because he thinks that will upset you and make you feel rejected. He sees you as a close friend, and the two of you have a bond that is otherwise missing, and you're filling in some sort of gap that he still has in his life.

The other possibility is that he's keeping you on the back burner for the day something goes wrong with his #1 relationship, so that he can slide on in to another dating situation.

Proceed with caution, but enjoy the friendship.

Ahh, I agree. Those were the only 2 possibilities that I thought was going on.

He feels awkward when his girl friend and you are around him because he most likely loves you both but can't bare the thought of breaking his girl friends heart.
