When my brother was my age, 16, he used to go to parties where he would drink with his friends and all that stuff. He never told my parents, and I never told on him. I was 11 at the time, and I understood where he was, and what he was up to.

Well, he caught me at a party friday night drinking with some of my friends. He took me home, yelled at me in the car on the way home, and then he told our parents!

I couldn't believe it! I never would have snitched on him, and he totally snitched! My parents were so upset, and now I'm grounded for a month.

I'm so mad at my brother, but he says that I shouldn't be mad at him. he says that I should be thankful towards him.

He's just worried about you, is all. He means well. He was concerned about your safety. He may have also regretted doing all the things he did when he was your age, and felt stupid for it, and he doesn't want you to go through the same thing. Older brothers are really very protective of their younger sisters. I have noticed that even with my own brother, even though I don't really do anything to get in trouble. Also, I noticed that older brothers don't like the idea of their younger sisters maturing or growing up. My brother says that when he looks at me, he still sees a five year old little girl. It might be the same for you. Don't be too upset with him. His intentions were good, and his heart was in the right place.

When I was your age I would do that stuff too and my little sister never told. That's because she was too young to understand the real dangers and damage those things can cause. Once you have lived it and gotten out of the situation, you look back and realize how terrible it actually was and that your parents had a point. If my little sister were to do it I would talk to my mom too, even though she kept my secrets. I know what can happen, I have been there. And I don't want her going through the same thing. I had something slipped in my drink and some guy tried to rape me. I will never let her put herself in that situation... even if it means she is grounded until she is 18.

He didn't do anything wrong. He snitched according to you, but you could have got date raped, and then what? Nobody would have believed you because you wanted to go to that party. Be reasonable. He at least learned his lesson. If you told, yeah, he would have wanted to kill you. But you telling on him shows you LOVE him. People who don't love you don't care. And still can't help you when you end up in a bind.

Well now you know not to let your brother find out. Just pay your dues and don't get caught next time. That's really all you can do. Orrr sit down and have a serious heart to heart with your brother. Tell him that he's being immature and that you had his back when he was younger. Tell him that you can't trust him and that from now on he'll have to mind his own business.

Yeah, and many things can go wrong with letting her do her own thing. I've never smoked nor drank in my life so I can't really relate to this sit but I know drinking is bad. my own brother got p*ssed when he caught my little sis about to smoke a ciggarette. and then she tried to drink! and he stopped her, yeah she was mad but he was doing the right thing! my little sis is only 15! and she tried to do that kind of stuff.

No, the mature thing to do is to step in and prevent the harmful actions. Minding your own business has its time and place, but is frequently not the most considerate nor the most mature thing to do.

I agree with him stepping in and telling her what she should and should not do, but he should not have ratted her out. I grew up with three brothers and they would tell me their experiences, tell me what the right choice is and what the wrong one is, and they would let me live my life based on that.

That was my first time drinking, too.

It ended up being the total opposite of fun.

It just bugs me to no end that he told the parents...

He cares about you. I have older brothers as well. I don't really drink often so I don't really get mad well, I've never gotten in trouble but I think he's just looking after you and making sure nothing bad happens

Well I know older brothers are pretty protective towards younger sisters (from what I heard) but I don't think its fair that you kept the secret and he didn't!

He just wants to keep you safe some of my friends smoke pot and got mixed with the wrong people it is sad because they are getting jumped almost every month
