How do girls really feel about a guy who is a good listener?

I think people who are good listeners are a reasonable sort of person, as apposed to people who are not good listeners.

everyone should be a good listener. just because men stereotypically slated as poor listeners. doesn't mean a good listener as a man should get extra points because he's a man. its just a bare essential to any significant acquaintance, imo. woman or man.

just like ot of people think a lot of guys are assholes... I don't like assholes but you don't get extra credit in my book just because you're a man and not an asshole.. its just basic human decency.

Man or woman, a good listener is a great person to have around.

Not only are they a good listener, and that helps A LOT, but they can also help others become good listeners as well, because they are an example.

Friend, boyfriend, husband, coworker, family member... it doesn't matter. A good listener is a great person to be around.

The best relationship is when you're dating your best friend. So if you were having a hard day, what would you want your girlfriend to do if you needed to talk to someone about it? Ignore you? No, probably not. You'd want her to be there for you.

Sometimes it's about what isn't said, rather than what is, so it depends on what you want & how well you communicate that with her.

So vice versa, its the same way for girls. I know I like a guy who can put up with my emotional days & be there when I'm on the up and up yaknow? Be the lover you would want to be around & you'll attract that.

OMG! I WOULD CHERISH THAT! LOL! Seriously, though I haven't came across a guy that is a good listener, so I would definitely go out with the guy.

I think they could make good partners, good friends, etc. Cause in any relationship weather it's platonic or intimate communication is the key. You need to communicate and to listen, and I think if you have those 2 traits, you're a gem, my friend. lol! :)

Yeah, I can't say I've had much trouble being friendzoned but I am a good listener. I do plan to make a lot of girls my friends first, get to know them then ask them out if we're compatible enough. But I love a girl who is a good talker and a good listener!

I like people who are good listeners. Doesn't matter if they are men or women, or children. I find that good listeners are better with communication, which is necessary in a relationship. Even people who talk a lot are capable of being excellent listeners. My fiance talks and talks and talks, but he always listens to what I have to say first, and he remembers things that I've told him a long time ago. I like that.

I think he's great - because it means I can have intelligent, debatable conversations with him on topics of interest, I can rely on him for advice and when I'm down I can talk to him about what's on my mind, what is bothering me

I think people like that are just amazing, because you can't really find anyone like that anymore. I would think they would make damn good partners because if you can open up to them you don't have all that stuff bottled up and you're not so stressed out all the time and you can actually have fin with them :) I think they would be more like close friends :)

It's a good quality to have. But other qualities are important as well, so it's difficult to say if a listening guy makes a good friend, close friend or boyfriend.

Actually understanding what you're listening to. Being empathetic, caring, confident, brave, nice, funny, creative, open-minded etc. Equally important.

Yeah? Most of my female friends I talk to about their problems, I don't want to get into their pants. Some of them have just had a rough time with family or exes and I listen to give them some advice here and there if they ask for it.
