I think it's because you look young, are skinny, and probably also dress well and have style, am I right? And you seem to have a perfect smile and perfect teeth. All these things combined makes you seem too perfect to be straight. I know it's stereotyping, but this is what we're talking about, right? If I see a guy who is super neat, skinny, looks young, and just looks too perfect and clean overall, I'd also think he's gay.
But if could also be in the way you dress. I wouldn't know since you're clearly shirtless in your avatar lol
Maybe you could try sporting a stubble? It might give you a more "rugged" look and make you look older. And bulk up a bit, but only if you want to.

On your profile you describe yourself as metrosexual which to me seems to appeal to the gay community. You look slightly effeminate but that doesn't have to mean gay. I am also hearing this from a lot of my guy friends so I think it might be more common than you think.
People have thought I was gay in the past too so I understand where you're coming from. I think it's the fact that I don't date often and I guess I'm slightly on the metro side of things. I mean I'm not one of those guys that has to prove himself masculine to people by throwing his pheromones in everyone's faces. I maintain a good skincare routine as well as being clean shaven.
People have this gay phobia and think everyone who is different is gay. This wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have gender roles or double standards.
I'm going to list some stereotypes... remember these are stereotypes.
Anything feminine translates to possibly being a homosexual. So if you have a soft voice that's one thing right there along with any tight clothes you may wear. Also depending on how you walk and if you act very sensitive and such it can raise a question.
Body language tells a lot, how you walk etc. Or if you make any gestures that seem feminine.

I think it's the hairstyle and the really nice smile. Try less gel or product or whatever. You remind me a bit of Taylor Lautner which is a good thing but I think both of you could stand to be a bit rougher around the edges (not in a sloppy way but in a cowboy kind of way).
You don't look gay, you look clean and like you take care of yourself. It's a shame that this strikes some people as "gay". A lot of straight guys are dirty and can't dress well. A good number of them are probably just jealous.
To me, the definition of gay means happy, not homo. LOL!!! Anyways, so far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as homosexuality in my head, so naturally, I don't think anyone is one! I don't assume anything like that.
