Why do people assume I'm a lesbian?

Before anything I'd like to say I don't have anything against lesbians I just don't get why people just assume I'm one. So I've always be a bit of a girly, tomboy, you could say I was raised gender neutral but before it was a trendy lefty thing to do.

Ever since the age 11 the rumors started mainly because I only had one or two close girl friends. When I was 16 a girl in my best friends class in sixth form kept trying to hint but we were lesbians and one day she lost it and said "yeah me and Alice we're totally lesbians together" and everyone took it seriously.

As me and my friend didn't study at the same sixth form I didn't know about this till she told me so before she told me I was in the post office and girl I went school with saw me and asked if I was a lesbian, I just thought what a stupid question even if I was you don't ask people that it non of your business and so what if I was big deal. So I said "yes I'm a lesbian" because I honestly didn't care and I thought it keep some of the fuck boys away.

Anyway times past and everyone in my town still thinks I'm gay and today at work someone asked if I was a lesbian and I said why do "people assume I'm a lesbian all the time"and all the men said "well it would explain a lot".

I'm very feminine and I don't think I fit the stereotype not but I agree with the stereotype but I'm very girly and flirty with men even though most my friends are guys and I work a manual, physically demanding job which involves getting my hands dirty and I sometimes think and act like a guy and my friends joke but I have a penis and say I'm one of the lads and I'm tougher than some of the guys mentally and physically and I've never had a boyfriend. I still don't understand because I still act very feminine and lady like not saying but lesbians don't but I just don't understand why people just assume.
