I saw this video and it was about in a rural village how people have expectations of you but in a city you can be anonymous and do whatever you like as long as you're not comitting crimes or being too annoying like waking your neighbors at night.

Do you think this is why a lot of people struggle with socialising and connection today? Because they're not willing to integrate themselves into a situation where other people have a say on what they think is right and wrong for them to do.

I was born in the city but lived in the countryside for 3 years. It was definitely an interesting experience. I think most of the people were nice but it was also difficult because they knew each other since birth and I was a new person and also I don't know I think I wasn't really ready for the ammount of social work it would take to fully integrate myself there.

I actually felt happy and like I was back home when I came back to Zürich. Even though I met new people and made new friends there's just a familiarity with how things are done here and I don't feel like I'm out of place or so.

I am putting more and more focus on socializing and I think it's going well but I still found it interesting this concept because I definitely feel like city people put a lot of importance on freedom and not being tied down and that comes into conflict with building a tight community.

I think I will keep changing my priorities over time but I also enjoy the city. There's a lot of nice things about it. We'll see how it goes :)

I've never been able to figure out my relative impoverishment with my desire to not have leftovers. It seems contradictory if not insane. I guess having new food was more important than having to eat the same shit again? Thoughts?

Oh, my mom was British and thought the spice rack was for decorative purposes so that SURE AS HELL didn't help!

Were you hailed parent of the year or they still hate you said no? Do you have fond or awful memories from your parents response?

Was the entire exercise a lesson in labor, basic shapes & math for them? Family economics & budget? Did they / you push for new carpet or furniture too? Did they / you cut a deal for the privilege?

Oh, and this: Why aren't ALL plugs FOR EVERYTHING flat / flush so you can put furniture against a god-damned wall? WHY? Any electricians here?

I think 4-5 years. People without lactase persistence still produce lactase up until 5 years old. And from what I can find, in traditional areas of the world unaffected by modernity, children are breastfed for 4-5 years. There is strong evidence being breastfed reduces stress and increases dopamine (happiness) for the baby, whereas just the milk without the social aspect of eating leads to lower dopamine. Hence why babies refuse to eat unless they're handfed.

Let's say you had a young teenage child who was riding his bike, then stop to play ball at the park with his friends, while playing ball, as your child notice one of his friends got on his bike, he didn't think too much of it because he knew that friend and thought he could trust that friend not to go too far on his bike but turn out the friend did...

The child had to walk home cause his mom was scheduled to take him to the carnival fair later own that night. The mom was furious and instead of being angry at only the thief, the mom will be angry at her child all because she's going through issues due to choosing to be friends with rowdy neighbors who had bad kids (which wasn't her kids choice to be friends with in the first place) she had issues cause she wrongfully thought them neighbors bads kids was a bad influence on her son. She seem to had an issue with boys in general anyways.

FYI: They did end up switching over year long period from when they found out at 3 months. They raised them together (during COVID) as much as they could (amazingly fortunate being 10 minutes away from each other) until kindergarten where they went to separate schools but still have established a relationship of kind of "co parents" and are differentiated by Mom/Mama.

The most difficult part according to both sets of parents was explaining to their older siblings why they were trading away their sister after 3 months of being together.

I think they did the right thing but my God how gut wrenching that must be.

Yes, this is America, so they both sued the fertility clinic and settled out of court.
