Admit it, at one point or another you have wanted to have beautiful tanned skin. You have managed to tan your legs and arms a few times and you may have also experienced a sunburn on your chest from that family reunion BBQ that faded into a tan because of your low cut v neck shirt.
Point is you have never been tan all over your body at once but you know your potential. I myself was once a pale person, and nowadays I stay pretty dark year round and even darker in the summer! With the tanning tips I am about to give you, you can go from being a pale person to completely changing your race if you would like, ok maybe not that but you will get pretty dark if you choose too.
Step 1: figure out your skin tone. At the tanning salon the employee can help you do this.
Step 2. You will most likely start in a level 2 bed which mimics the effect of the sun. This bed will help you build a great base tan. If your salon has a stand up bed my advice is to choose the stand up over the lay down because it just gives you a better overall tan and it's easier to rotate in. Start at about 4 or 5 mins then increase your time by a minute every 1 to 2 sessions.
Step 3. Purchase a tanning maximizer/ accelerator. This lotion will help you build your tan a lot faster. Apply it on yourself before you hop into the bed.
Step 4. Once you build a good base tan, which usually happens after 5-10 sessions, you can begin to hop into the level 3 and 4 beds which will bronze your skin. These are the beds that will get you dark! You will not burn in these beds so you can go the full time. My advice is to use these beds once a week and still hop in the good old level 2 bed 2-3 times a week.
Step 5. By this point you should have built a great tan and you can maintain it by tanning twice a week , but if you still want to get darker hop in a level 5 bed twice a week, and use the level 2 bed once a week, you can also add a bronzer lotion although the accelerator will do you just fine.
Step 6. Understand that building an amazing tan takes time it took me 3 months to get to where I'm at, you may do it sooner but have patience you will get there. GOOD LUCK! AND HAPPY TANNING!
