I agree. I don't see makeup as art unless it's for a special look, costume or special effects. I just like to wear it because it's fun to apply it, try new products, see my face slowly transform and because I feel pretty when I wear it.
No, it doesn't have to be unique to be considered art.
It is artistic and it is creative but is it needed or wanted by someone else is the real question? If you cover up a work of art with paint I guess you lose the original canvas but then again it's never the less a rendition.
Daily makeup as a habit: Covering up insecurities.
Makeup as in movies, costume parties etc. etc. you know what I mean: True art.
I feel like every person who has ever tried to put on makeup knows it's and art. Only few people really master it.
If people want to wear make up, let them be. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have to bitch about it and bash millions of makeup wearers all over the world.
