4 Cruelty-Free Makeup Brands I Love

I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE makeup. I also love animals, so when I shop for makeup I refuse to buy any that is tested on animals, even if it means spending a couple extra bucks.

All of the brands on this list are on PETA's list of Cruelty-Free cosmetics.

Tarte Cosmetics

My favorite makeup brand! The first thing I bought from Tarte was a 12-hour foundation. I absolutely fell in love, so whenever I need foundation or primer I go to Tarte.

Urban Decay

I am obsessed with Urban Decay's contour palette. I wanted a contour palette like Anastaisa's, but not as intense. This one is perfect.

Too Faced

Too faced has an eye palette that SMELLS like chocolate (see picture above)! For me, that's something that makes them stand out from the competition. I also love anything that smells chocolate.

E.l.f.

This brand is on the more affordable side, which means that not all their products are high quality. But it's a good brand for someone who is just starting to wear makeup.

Bobbi Brown and Illamasqua.
Not sure about Bobbi Brown - many oppositional opinions on this brand - they say they don't test on animals, but Peta claims they do... O. o

oh ya i remember all those brands from back in the day when i used to work at sephora hmmm well i actually have my favourite cosmetics on my desk right now and my favourite brand for base makeup (uv block) is a korean brand called ” innis free ” alcohol and paraben free, organic ingredients, very reasonable price and most of all very good results.

Bellapierre. The foundation doesn't clog my pores and I'd been using my 4g/0.13oz jar for half a year (on a more or less regular basis until I limited my makeup use to special occasions) and 2/3 is still there. I guess they're cruelty free, but I'm not sure.

I'll admit that I have a Yves Saint Laurent lip gloss, and it's the most expensive makeup I've ever bought (I splurge on one thing once a year). But unfortunately, I don't think they're cruetly free. Other than that, I actually use organic cruelty free makeup called Zuzu. Tarte is also pretty nice.

I love that peta makes these lists but they aren't as nice as they want us all to think. They killed over 90% of the animals that come to their shelters. Fucking hypocrites.

They're NOT protecting animals, and they know it.

Naked eyeshadow palettes are awesome and tartes mascaras are amazing! For brushes real techniques are affordable and pretty good quality! I love Tarte! Everything is so pigmented and the packaging is adorable! I don't like too faced so much...

I've never tried it! I don't wear foundation usually. Only some powder. I heard the maracuja foundation is really good and so is their powder airbrush foundation (I think it's called)

I heard Urban Decay wasn't cruelty free? My favorite is TooFaced, they make the best products and the packaging is really pretty

I love Too Faced's "Better Than Sex" mascara! It's amazing and the name is hilarious.

Urban Decay is owned by L'Oreal. L'Oreal tested on animals for a long time. They claim they don't anymore, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

I usually get stuff from the body shop. I don't know if they test or not but I know they don't for some body butters.

I love MAC, and Urban Decay. Not sure if MAC is cruelty free or not... I'll definitely research though :)

All countries of the European Union and I think a few others in Europe too. If Maybelline is allowed to sell their products in the EU, shouldn't it mean the same products sold in the US are animal test free too?

Unless they use different ingredients for the EU than for the US... they have to be cruelty free.
