I would prefer my partner's height to be in the same neighbourhood as mine (if not as tall, preferably taller than me).

As for normal friends, it doesn't really matter, but I'm kinda paranoid about crushing my short friends underfoot.

There are actually so many short guys out there. I'm 5'3 and barely find a guy who is taller than me. From what I've been told though, as long as the girl is shorter than the guy, they don't mind.

I really don't understand the obsession of short girls in USA in my country and Europe in general they all dig tall girls.

You're saying that your medium height is not the obsession in your country. I am a bit surprised since women in America put a preference to a man's height. If a guy is 5'10 (like me) or less then he is not desired by the girls who are few inches shorter or taller. So I guess they have to go for shorter.

@realperson02 Maybe it's for that. In France people want to date people around their height so with very few height difference.
Like in America some super tall guys aorund 6'3 date girls who are 5'1 that's look ridiculous. In France a guy this tall with search for a girl super tall around 5'11. Height in France is important for both gender.
