Because things are getting more and more out of control the longer and longer he has full control and power. Renaming things that shouldn't be renamed is just one of the many things that describes a dictator in my book.

I think it goes back way before that.

In an ideal world, which we don't ever truly have, but sometimes we can aim for, the federal government would not have the biggest impact on our lives. It was designed to have limited power, and it would be the state and local elections that had the biggest impact. But slowly over the last century or so, there have been more and more attempts to consolidate power in the federal government and strip it from the local voices. That's why people don't know who is in the local government, but everybody knows the federal leaders.

So if you are on the left, this is an extremely important election because you need to get Trump out of office and get someone reasonable in power. Our country is at stake. If you are on the right, it is an extremely important election because you need to keep Trump in power so that you keep the leftists out. Our country is at stake.

Yes I see what you mean now. It's like no matter what, we the people don't really have much power one way or the other.

Yes!! No matter where you fall in the political debate, it feels like we're constantly on the edge of a razor.

It's especially frustrating because this situation was explicitly foreseen by the founding fathers and they set up the government to block it. Of course, our wonderful leaders over the decades have systematically undone what they set up.
