Why do Middle-eastern men covering themselves too and why do many do it in a hot country?

It protects from scorching sun rays, and dust and sand in really dry regions. If you've been in a desert you will know the benefits. It is also a cultural thing, the kufiyah (men's scarf headdress) has been worn since ancient Babylonian times and I guess because of the benefits they just haven't stopped using it.
Although some of these look like it's a lot of clothing, the material is quite thin, mostly made of cotton in hotter weathers, and thicker material in colder climates.
Having worn abaya and hijab before in Malaysia I can tell you that it isn't too awful if the climate is dry, if it's humid however then it's terrible but most middle eastern countries aren't humid.
Do you know why Middle-eastern wears often black clothing instead of light or white clothing if black is warmer to wear? From my experience black clothing is warmer.
Actually, the idea of wearing minimal clothing in a desert climate is a "tourist mistake". In desert climates, people where clothing that shields most of their skin to protect themselves from the sun or other aspects of the weather. In that region, it isn't a cultural or religious expectation for men to wear head pieces that hide their features. Showing modesty is an expectation and requirement, but not to the extent of men hiding their faces. It's relative to a fashion of sorts and/or a necessity as I prior mentioned.
There was that one guy who got kicked out of his country for being to good looking haha He is now the coolest guy I know of!

Pretty much proof a bunch of insecure, perverted old men run the country
I don't know if you've ever walked out into the scorching sunlight, but it actually literally feels like it's burning your skin.
So yeah, I'd wear long sleeves, long pants and a hat too...
Middle Eastern men are something else in general, but not always true. They love to treat women like shit. Maybe they wear it to hide their shame?
I know couple guys from the Middle East and they do not treat women like shit or wear any headgear like that.
Because when it becomes so hot, your head will hurt from direct sun rays, and even your skin. Trust me, first hand experience. That's why in the west they wear caps or Snapbacks. But in the middle east, it's more traditional
Doesn't you get too warm if you're wearing so much?
Well you feel hit anyway, so it's better to have something on you. by the way, their clothes are made from special materials that stay cold. I don't know about the women though, black conducts heat

The scorching sun can cause a lot of damage to your skin. So they cover their body. Direct sunlight on one's head can overeat the scalp and increases the risk of permanent brain damage. This is also why people wear caps and hats now.
It helps maintain body moisture and prevents dehydration. Keeping the skull protected from hot sun is very important as well as it can lead to sun stroke and similar problems.
To avoid direct contact with the sun, the second picture is just tradition though and the first they only dress like that in desert areas
Doesn't you get too warm if you're wearing so much?
It's better than receiving direct sunlight and being exposed to UVR all day long.
It came from the old days when they live in the dessert. They need to protect their faces from sun and sand
In old times, They lived in sandy deserts with burning sun so they must protect himselves so they wear like that. But now, i guess its just traditional dress lol.
Yeah I think you're right. I'm from Middle East and I don't know why there are some people still wearing like this lol.
But in my country it's hard to find someone that still wear like that
They do it to protect their skin, head, etc... Sun is very dangerous. They do it in another country because it's what they're used to I guess.
Ancient Arabs were wearing (like first picture) to protect them from the sun and sandstorm
Covering your skin in cool, light fabric actually feels colder than being naked in heat.
Because they are limiting their exposure to the sun,
is required by muslim religion to minimize exposure in public
That's only to females, males must only cover the area between the belly button and the knees
It's usually very thin bright clothing which makes it easier to deal with the heat.
they don't do it in my country but i guess they do it to get protected from sun.
i think this all started, because they live in sand places. this is just best for sand storm or etc.
They cover for protection from the sun as did many other tribes... seems contradictory i know
i'm guessing to avoid sun damage
It keeps the sun directly off the skin and slows moisture loss
The Tradition
But doesn't it get very hot in these clothing in the warm weather?
I would think so but they've been doing it for thousands of years I guess they don't mind lol
WHY do you care?
I'm curious, therefor.
You could just google that... I think you're up to something else... that's a lot of pics and images which you found through google when you were looking for those pics, they probably discussed it there. You're full of shit! You just wanted to start a discussion about it here for come reason. SOOOOO... why did you REALLY bring that topic up here (with all the nice pics included)? Hmmmm?
