This has been a thing in Jamaica for years. First it was sweats, especially suits that were name brand. Then women started wearing tights and work out blouses. I think it looks cheap, also because Jamaicans who are poor dress that way.
I'm indifferent to it. Sure it makes people more attractive in most cases but that's probably because they got a good sense of fashion or something and they are happy to use it. Not gonna bash them over it so I'm fine with it.
I didn't know this was a movement nor that it had a name. Isn't this normal? Sounds like an industry that can make a ton of money just off female gym-ware. On the right person, it can look amazing. At the end of the day, you do you.
I had no Idea that athleisure was a thing but I do most often wear sport tops or athletic pants/leggings, this is because I find athletic clothing more comfortable.
Yeah those are stupid. And know fashion is not just based on opinion there are facts that go into fashion. Like color theory and different cuts and different accessories and the debate of form vs function and what trends are coming and going. These are all to be considered when you take it seriously. Opinion has its place, but this is an industry that people live off of, so it must be grounded in fact also.
@zenkai No, you're thinking of trendiness. Athleisure is extremely trendy, and it follows the form fitting themes popular today. Trendiness is similar to fashion, but it's based on facts. Fashion is art. Art is all about opinion.
It reminds me of the early 2000's when middle aged people would wear sport shoes and sweat pants in public because it was comfy and they just didn't give a fuck.

I exercise at least twice a day so there’s always a chance I’m roaming around in my exercise clothes.
Considering we lived through the 80’s, I think we’ll make it through the yoga pants fad.

I like it cuz athletic clothes are comfy and easy to move in.
I think athletic clothes are comfortable, but not very stylish. So it depends on what your priorities are.
I think it's totally not cute. Then again I like when girls look like this - i.pinimg.com/.../...c3a51d54e27b79b9f1386775fb.jpg
So maybe I'm not the one to ask.

Yoga pants and leggings on women are okay, but the fitted sweatpants thing is just stupid.
No it's not it's comfortable and easy to. match with almost any clothing
It's a crime to fashion
Be honest you don't know the first thing about fashion.
You say that based on opinion not fact.
@zenkai LMFAO That's what fashion is all about! Opinion. You know what else I think looks ridiculous? Those stupid flat billed designer baseball caps.

In my eyes, it appears just lazy.
I think its a sign of mutual respect, when dressing "appropriately"
I love it! I wear my adidas joggers or nike legging to school sometimes. Just throw a sweater or tee on top and it looks nice.
It reminds me of the early 2000's when middle aged people would wear sport shoes and sweat pants in public because it was comfy and they just didn't give a fuck.
I'm okay with Yoga pants and sweat like shirts, but full on athletic gear as clothing when you didn't just come from the gym is a bit ridiculous.
I wear yoga pants and leggings all the time. I never thought of wearing comfortable clothes as a movement.
Yes I definitely wear athletic clothing when I’m not working out. They are comfortable and cute. I see nothing wrong with it.
I love it, it’s comfy and I can preform my best. Also a pair of black leggings go with everything and fit inside my boots perfectly!
I dont mind it
some of the clothing looks cute and comfortable.
I love yoga pants and leggings I wear them all the time
Yoga pants make dat booty pop. 🍑🙌🙏🙌🍑
But no, I don't wear them when I'm not exercising.
