The reason for that has to do with the way the gender binary is enforced, and how our choice in clothing is us “doing gender.” gender is a set of behaviors, ways of being, and ways of interacting that convince ourselves and everyone around us that, deep down, we are just what we appear to be. I believe That is why it is women look normal and men look silly.
As much I would love to wear that Modern Black Victorian Long Gown. I would still look silly in it to everyone else. Because of gender binary is always being enforced. So I would never look normal.

I think its more to do with figure... womens clothes work for womens figures and mens work for mens, thing is woman can still look curvy in mens... maybe?
Thats first time i seen a woman in a 3 piece suite and i have to say.. damn girl!
incidentally i dont look good in a dress either
Women in "men's clothes" mostly wear clothes actually made for women, but the same styles as men wear. Men wearing women's clothes are mostly actually women's clothes and often ill fitting, because they don't make those for men because of the low demand.
I only find it weird to wear clothes that are not sized or tailored for your gender, regardless of what the actual garment looks like. For example kilts aren't weird at all, although similar to skirts, because they are tailored for men.
Because men and women still aren’t viewed as equal subconsciously. Men are perceived as better in some way, so a women dressing like them seems normal, but as a man dressing as a woman, so dressing as if you’re lesser, is not accepted and is made fun of

Women in men clothing don't seen as normal, but it seen as more normal than the other way around, men things considered more unisex than women things.
tvtropes.org/.../MenAreGenericWomenAreSpecialWhen you see a girl dressed like a man, its a butch or a feminist hater (mostly ugly bitches who miss the womanly feeling only a man's desire provides.)
If by normal you mean, a clear vision of a homossexual stand , then yes.
Super normal
▪▪ Ellen DeGeneres is actually so straight that her suits and haircut are just a modern way to seek the men's attention. ▪▪ (ridiculous)I am not trans, but I have worn women's clothing as both a joke, and a statement.
I do not care about clothing being gendered, because I do not care about gender. I'm a dude, and it ok for me to do whatever the fuck I want.
Men's clothing is more unisex than women's clothing, which is why people notice.
Personally I would only worry if I wore a dress in an area that doesn't like trans people. I am not trans, but I also know friends who almost got lynched because of it.Because when the men went to fight in wars women were needed to work in the factories and they couldn't do that in dresses, they needed the same type of clothes that were already being worn at the job, jean pants, boots and a thick long sleeve shirt.
It's not about being lesser or any of that bull, it's simply biology. Men are bigger, and a smaller person in clothes designed for bigger frames can still look good because it doesn't reveal misalignments. On the flip side, when was the "squeezed in" look ever flattering?
Because it is perceived as weak, faggy or feminine - and to some people, the worst thing a person could be is female.
I couldn't care less personally. Our perceptions and thoughts are constructed by society. It is universally considered that a man wearing woman's clothes is feminine.
Because male clothing isn't particularly swayed to masculinity since that's harder to show with just some fabric.
Because masculinity is seen as strong and femininity is seen as weak, and it's OK for a woman to be strong but not OK for a man to be weak.
Women wearing what they want is something we've fought for.
Suits can be for both.
Men find impractical clothes with holes useless so for the most of use dresses are useless.Maybe it’s cause it looks weird when guys do it lmao
It's not, I never saw it as normal either ways. Only lesbians do that. But there is suits for men and suits for women. Jeans for men and jeans for women. But the shape varies
Because of how we view masculinity and femininity culturally.
They still see it as manly. Not so much jeans because of their practical use.
When I see a woman in man's clothing I dont think thats normal at all.
Because society considers it demeaning to be feminine.
Men are generic but women are special that's why men's clothes are usually unisex.
Its just a fact of life that men are more visual wonen are not.
Because male clothes usually fit a woman while female clothes usually is too small (no straps or too thin straps) which looks weird.
