Why are women's clothes so much more revealing than men's clothes?

I've noticed posts on here and elsewhere asking for help finding more modest clothing, and the consensus seems to be that it exists, but it's harder to find. So I've been thinking about this a lot. When you compare men's and women's clothing even in the same category, the women's version is so much skimpier and more revealing. Some examples:

Men's shorts = to the knee
Women's shorts = rarely more than a 6" inseam, often 2-4". And some are incredibly short to the point where u can literally see half of buttcheeks.
Men's t-shirts = sleeves cover almost the entire bicep
Women's t-shirts = sleeves barely cover the delts (to the top of the bicep)
Men's jeans = Flattering but not tight
Women's jeans= Skin tight, "form fitting", "sexy"
Men's formal wear = the only skin showing is the neck, head, and hands
Women's formal wear = bare shoulders, legs, arms, cleavage, etc.
Men's fabrics = Sturdy, strong, lasting
Women's fabrics = See-through, light-weight, clingy, fragile
Why is this difference so pervasive in the fashion industry? Yes, if one looks hard, one can find clothing that isn't so tight or revealing, but the vast, vast majority of women's fashion is.
