Girls, What does it mean when another women makes fun of the way you dress?

A random lady at work judges me and makes fun of me with her friend for no reason. she's new and older. She always watches, whispers, and snickers to a friend she made as we walk by.

So strange, because I've worked there longer than her. (I'm still new to a work environment, so I dont know if this is normal). Maybe what I wear is inappropriate, I don't know. But It gets super hot where I work and that day I decided to wear a halter crop-ish top with high waisted loose joggers. (and we wear lab coats over our clothes anyways) And they walked by saying "tryna be sexy". Yet they wear much more revealing and tight clothing.

I've never experienced this at work before, only back in high school..
Why do they care about how I dress? Is wearing revealing clothing inappropriate in a production work environment?

It's just a woman playing at office gossip. Ignore her, make friends with her boss and other higher ups, and just do your work well.

If her bullying gets bad, document it, talk to your boss for help in confronting her, confront her (and document it), and prepare to escalate if needed.

Unfortunately this is common with older women in the workplace. They will often bully younger ones in a misguided attempt to solidify social power at work because they often lack actual skill in their job.

Don't fall for it. Rise above and keep doing your job well. She'll lose interest when she realizes you're not affected and will switch to a new target.

But make friends with her boss and her boss' boss. And make sure she sees you interact with her boss and boss' boss.

The best protection you can have is senior leadership's support and respect.
