Were girls wearing thongs back in the 90's?

So I was in hs in mid 90's class of 1995. Were girls wearing thongs back then or what was the big deal for underwear then? I was never really into dating back then. I thought thongs came latter on.

YES! They were so popular in the 90's. It was popular to have your thong show above your jeans while wearing a short tank top, usually for teens in high school in the 90's

Yeah,thongs were worn then...its just that they weren't peekaboo thongs because of ultra low jeans.

My wife started in the late 80’s both at the beach and as underwear. 90’s became more mainstream
