Bell bottoms (1967-1989).
Did people in the 1980s really wear straight leg/skinny pants?
Bell bottoms (1967-1989).
Bell bottoms were the 1970s.
1980s people wore regular jeans, tight jeans and ripped and faded jeans with holes.
Then why were so many people still wearing bell bottoms in the early 80s?
You can't even tell the difference between the early 70s and the early 80s, fashion wise.
Where are you getting this?
Watch a film from say 1981.
The US Festival in 1983 looked like Woodstock.
Or maybe it's just me I don't know
Yes we did :D
Personally, I (back then) found the 'bells' being outdated by the late 70's.
Your update.
Those guys:
a - liked the trousers
b - gave a shit about what is trendy and what is not
c - lived in an isolated village and got the news late
d - did not have enough money to buy something new each time fashion industry tells us to do so
etc
Maybe not the majority of people at this point, there were exceptions.
It;s true that at the start of a new decade, fashion will not change entirely.
I don't miss them at all :D

In the 80s there were a lot of straight leg trousers and punk that was still going and the mod movement dressed a lot like this. In every decade there is mainly re invention but rarely anything new.
