Was just watching some old music videos from the 1970s and1980s and couldn't help but notice all the western men wearing very short booty jeans shorts that are just as short as what women wear these days. Why was that so popular then but not now?

I saw pictures of my grandpa from the 70's wearing cut off jean shorts that were painted on! They were also extremely short. It was funny but also a little disturbing lol
