I think that society tells people (more often girls but definitely not exclusively) that we aren't allowed to be comfortable in confidence in our skin or else we're conceited. I think a main reason for that is that we're expected to seek validation from others to feel good about ourselves, that we can only be attractive if we fit societal beauty norms, but I don't think that should be the case. Beautiful comes in all genders, shapes, and sizes. Loving yourself should be normalized, not shamed.
