Tldr: step mom was a weird control freak, didn't let me shave, I was finally able to shave after she and my dad briefly separated after she cheated. I think that was by 5th
My step mom never let me shave for some reason. And she never let me grow my hair out on my head. It always had to be to my shoulders. I started puberty in second grade and ended up with thick long hair on my legs and pubes by third or fourthgrade. It was also hot as fuck here in Texas during the summer, so when I wore shorts, I was made fun of and stared at. Especially in swimsuits. I noticed it was grown men that stared longer than women. Not sure why that is. I begged her to let me but she wouldn't budge.
I eventually snuck one of her razors in like... fourth grade because it was getting so bad and embarrassing. I ended up shaving everything. Arms, legs, and pubes. She found out, and asked if I snuck a razor to shave myself. I told the truth. Then she screamed at me, screamed at my dad, and told him that "if I kept this up I was going to be doing drugs in a few years." He told me not to do it again, and that was the end of it.
I was allowed to shave after they briefly separated because he cheated on him.

I was 12 when I started shaving my legs and pits, 14 for my kitty. My mom taught me the first part and my friend showed me how to do the other part.
I don’t know, some time in middle school. No one taught me how to shave, I just rubbed some shaving cream on my face and grabbed a razor and went to work. It’s not rocket science. If you have a father, then at some point you have observed him shaving before you hit puberty. It’s like pouring a glass of orange juice. You don’t sit down for a long hard talk about how to pour a drink… You’ve seen people do it and it’s self explanatory. My dad used disposable razors and they are fucking garbage. They can barely cut through a lightly scrubby beard let alone a my skin… So there is no danger there. As a teenage boy, you start out with peach fuzz and then it gets thicker as you age. As a result, you don’t have to use much pressure to get rid of it at first. So it gives you time to practice before you have to deal with thicker hair. By the time you have thicker hair you have thicker skin and are an expert with a blade. I eventually bought a double edged safety razor because disposables do a bad job and are waste of money. It gives a much better shaver for next to nothing price wise and any idiot can figure it out.
14 or so. I just grabbed a razor and went to town. A few cuts later I learned what not to do.

I was in 8th grade 😳😳🥴
I didn’t used to care at all about having hair on my legs because it just didn’t hit me like something odd
then I remember in 7th grade this shirt tomboyish girl that thought she “cool”, would always come to my table and try to say things to me to embarrass me in front of the two guys that sit next to me
and I would always dismiss her comments as if I really didn’t care at all like okay and? And the guys would just look at her and she looked stupid cause it was clear that her comments didn’t affect me and so one day I was wearing my skirt as usual and she goes to my table and asks out loud “WHy don’t you shave your legs?”
and they all looked at me.. I don’t know if I got red or not but I felt really embarrassed and I again tried to play it off but this time she really made me mad and I said “because I don’t want to, why do you care? Go shave yours if you care so much”
and she replied with “I do shave them” and I said “ok? And? I don’t care what you do”
then she said someone wanted to kick my ass
and I said “so?”
and she said “you don’t care?”
and I said “ no “
and she said “do you wanna fight her?”
then I really yelled at her “NO I don’t care”
and then one guy the one sitting next to me told her to leave me alone.. and she looked embarrassed and said “what I’m just telling her”
mans he said “and she told you she doesn’t care” so she just left the table
after this I remember my cousin told my mom she should let me and my sister shave because other kids would make fun of us and my mom said ok but I refused to shave lol because I thought if I did, it would make that stupid shirt girl think I did it because she said that stuff to me.. so I waited till 7th grade was over and I shaved the first day of 8th grade13 I think? Yeah, it wasn't a popular choice either, all my guy friends were confused why I would want to be removing hair and I just dislike having it in those parts, it is more hygienic and less itchy to just shave it all, I still do it to this day with the same thought track.
As for learning, I learned from my mum, she taught me how to shave my face but later I asked my sister how to shave my legs and obviously I could figure out how to shave the last area without asking for help, I wasn't going to ask for advice on that because my dad is the MANLY MAN type who would see it weird to consider shaving that area and my mum and sis won't want to talk about shaving that area, you just figure it out by practice.
But yeah, every time I shave, my face is clean shave and my legs could deceive you for being waxed XDMy dad taught me how to shave my face at 15.
At 23, One of my ex girlfriends taught me how to shave the little pubes from my balls and shaft. I was handcuffed tightly to the bed when she taught me bc she knew just HOW SENSITIVE it would be, and she didn't want me squirming so I hurt myself. (Also, she loved teasing the head of my cock, so this gave her an excuse to hold my shaft upright away from my body by putting her fingers on the ultra sensitive tip of my cock for what seemed like an eternity!)I was 11 and I just asked if I could get something to shave my legs with so I was given an electric shaver. However that was hard since we hardly bought the batteries for it. I like razors better because I didn't have any batteries to worry about, only what kind they are. So I could shave whenever was needed.
About 12, tried it myself with not too good results. Got some coaching from Mom and my (way) older sister, it was better. I became more ambitious with clear cutting, especially in the summer.
Mom took me for laser treatments starting when I was 14ish and have no regrets.lol I was 9, much younger than anyone else on here was apparently, but then again I do usually tend to be like that :)
For me it wasn't a big thing though- my mom gave me the stuff, told me a few things, and then I taught myself. It wasn't anything exciting- just normal to me :)I was about 13 years of age when I first started shaving because I had just started dating the guy who, five years later, became my fiancé (not husband though). Nobody taught me but I think I saw it on tv and I also used to see my older siblings shave their legs and underarms on a few occasions when I went to their houses.
My mom was a single parent... I never learned how to shave from a man. There wasn’t one. I had to learn from YouTube. I recommend any man wanting to learn to shave go to a barber shop and get a haircut with a shave. They might not do it with covid here but you can get a personal shave and ask for tips.
For some reason, I started growing facial hair very early on and well beyond peach fuzz, so my father taught me to shave at the age of 10. Initially, he taught me with a safety razor using shaving soap and brush, but later a straight razor once I started getting the hang of it.
I was 19 when I first shaved. It was mandatory for basic training. The first day of basic training, the RDCs gave everyone razors and we shaved in front of them in groups of 8 at a time. I was fortunate enough to be in the 2nd group and a guy in the first group was older and knew how to shave. I watched him and mimicked what he did. Thank God I did because the RDCs really picked on those who did not know how to shave.

I was age 15 when my father taught me how to shave.
I changed he category to fashion and beauty because that is where non-sexual grooming questions belong. I think I was nearing 16 and my mum told me I need to shave before visiting grandma.
So I watched a YouTube vid and stole one of my brother's razors he didn't notice.
I bought a electric razor I use most days I prefer the convenience It only takes a minute and it's the same result.
My brother rarely shaves and always cut himself heaps. My legs? I was young and did it to piss off my dad. Taught myself
14, self-taught (it's really easy).
Then I started waxing (100% recommend)... now we're in a pandemic so I'm either hairy or I shave lol. Im joking I shave :DI dont shave, i get loose hairs though. I know a little about how to shave, i had a toy shaving set as a kid, and i keep up to date on hair shaving innovations. I've looked at several shaving razors, mostly for sensitive skin, dummy proof, not because i can't follow directions, just because i always believe in getting the safest razors available, i dont want to take chances.
When I was 16 years old. I noticed some areas were getting bushy and cutting those came as the idea on it's own. No further explanation required.
About 16. I actually self-taught as my dad shaved in ways my sensitive skin can't handle.
I now use 2-blade (stop buying 3 blade razors! They damage your skin!) Disposables and double edged safety razors exclusively. I have a spacial electric trimmer for my twiddle-diddles (plastic, won't cut open the sac) and a razor known as the "man groomer" which I use to shave my chest and back (I am very gorilla like).I waxed my kitty the first time when I was 14 😭 and it killled
6 but i was really pretending lol. I used to put shaving cream on my face and use a razor that still had the plastic cap on haha. I didn't really remember that but your question jogged my memory.
For real 16. I only had to shave once a week back then.13 because my parents wouldn't let me shave until then.
