So there’s this trend on tiktok , which says that the people we find the prettiest/most handsome (aka celebrities usually) are hotter versions of what we look like, or what we wish to look like. Do you think this is true?

Studies show women are attracted to men who are like their fathers. This goes so far as to say that women are repulsed by men who do not SMELL like their fathers! I think this is a repulsion due to genetic factors. So, as much as you might look a bit like your dad, you might be attracted to someone who LOOKS a bit like your dad.. Daddy is usually your first love.
In the case of men, I think men choose women who are the OPPOSITE of their mothers, especially if their mothers are strong, intelligent, competent women.
I think this might be due to the "feeling like a little boy" syndrome males have and not wanting to have that feeling around their woman.
Of course, this is anathema to having a good relationship with a woman. A strong, intelligent, competent woman will enhance ANY man's life.
I know my mom was one. But who did my brother marry, a woman with loads of problems who couldnt stand on her own. Not a bad person or mother, but had many weaknesses. She's turned out better than she was initially. But my brother had to struggle early in their marriage. It's evened out.
I see it with my son choosing aimless, young women who don't know what they want to do: beauty school dropouts, coffee shop baristas who are clueless. Who don't want to think about tomorrow. At 21, this is somewhat excusable. But he is on his way in his work and with himself. Why not choose a woman who is treading the same path?

It’s probably true to some extent. As offensive as this will be for the woke crowd most of us tend to actually find people who are genetically more similar to us. Not close enough for incest to occur of course, but just beyond that.

What you might also notice is that you find the smell of some people very attractive, and the smell of others repulsive, regardless of how good looking they are. That’s the body’s way of sensing whether or not that person is a good or bad genetic match for you.

Not for me, at least. That sounds pretty narcissistic.

The closest I've been compared to as far as looks go is Kanye West (I'm a "fatter, taller" version of him), but he's rather ugly. Same with Levar Burton or Ice Cube. These are the only three guys I've ever been compared to. The Ice Cube really offended me though, and Levar Burton (before he became a woke retard) looks like any generic black man.

Well how its been said can be taken up multiple ways end of the day the person who wrote it is responsible for what he said not what you understand (unless on tiktok it was clear in what direction) anyway my opinion is you shouldn't care as said before you are your own entity and as long as you are happy with yourself then that is all that matters you, how they look and who they are isn't going to help you get a job or get along in life.. Its part of their jobs and what's on the outside can be washed off...

no.. and for the life of me i don't understand why people have to go around treating celebrities different. they're people like you and me only with different careers. they breathe the same air they have to eat drink sleep like everybody else does and have the same emotions as everybody else. so why treat them any different. i just wish people stop idolizing celebs and see them for who they really are on the inside and see them as real human beings and not some make believe made up character in some comic book movie or video game

I can't really comment in that because the women I have found attractive in my life look absolutely nothing like me.

But I remember years ago that Entertainment Tonight (a celebrity drama/news show) talked about how there are couples out there who look a like.

Be that as it may, given that I find hot women hot and given that I'm a dude, I wouldn't say that the girls I find hot are in any way "hotter versions of myself." They're hot women and look pretty much nothing like me other than that we're human shaped overall. But that's hardly something I'd find particularly distinguishing or hot.
