I’ve seen men on here rate average/plain looking girls a 10/10 and supermodels and conventionally attractive girls like a 5. That makes no sense, like why? Is it the difference between male and female gaze? Or is it them just simping for who’s more in their league? Or are they just against makeup?
Eg: the first girl displayed is clearly someone conventionally attractive, the majority of society would find her to be beautiful, of course not everyone but lots would. The second girl is someone who is average pretty (more girl next door), and lots of people first look would find the first girl way more attractive however, the second girl would clearly get more attention on here if she posted, why is that? And no hate to ether, they’re both pretty in their own way.

Why do men on here prefer average girls more than conventionally attractive girls?
Supermodels and Instagram chicks don’t need more people telling them how attractive they are that’s the last thing they need. In fact most models and those Instagram girls are really stuck up and spoiled and shallow. (I’m not generalizing I’ve known and worked with plenty of models). Everything they have in life is handed to them by their looks, so besides that they’ve never achieved anything or had to face real hardships and or adversity. Not to mention they are also really insecure about themselves. Over all they are nightmares and I don’t play into that by stroking their egos and giving them extra attention. And I hope other men follow suit too soon because they wouldn’t have gotten anywhere in live if it weren’t for that.
also the non supermodel girls. I’m pretty sure they are rated more because they are more desirable and they can actually offer something to a guy that isn’t their bodies. Because when the looks fade they will have personality and other great qualities real men actually seek.

Well I’m just talking about here on this app, since neither parties are gonna actually see the votes or date you, why not just be honest? Plus you can’t tell their personalities asked on their features, o have friends who look hot and look rude but they’re beyond sweet. Everyone’s different, looks don’t determine that.
My theory would be they are hating on the one (s) they are actually more attracted to because they find them unattainable, and the less attractive one (s) they think they have a better chance with or think of them as more approachable so they rate them higher.
It's a theory based on what I have seen in real life of guys cutting down and insulting the prettier girls to try and find fault with them because they seem so perfect, and also the tendency of men to crowd up on the "5s" because they see them as easy to get because "they're less attractive so will be more desperate".
Just a theory, what do you think?

Yes I can see that, I’ve seen girls do they same with other girls. Tearing apart beautiful women and uplifting those who are less attractive than them, it happens a lot, I wouldn’t be surprised if men did the same.
I think girls do that a bit to guys as well, the more attractive guy don't always get more attention or "play" from girls, it can be the less attractive guys in the group who end up with more attention. I don't know if it's the same reason or maybe the "attractive" guy just doesn't have the same level of game I don't know.

But I’m not sure, based off of here and here alone, I’ve seen girls comment nice things to pretty attractive guys, and I’d see 0 comments on the less attractive dudes.
1) many men falsely attribute their dislike for traits like insecurity, people pleasing, arrogance, etc. On makeup, clothing or appearance
2) many people hate mainstream things, given the false assumption that because it is mainstream it is somehow lesser in value than if you 'discovered it' before it was cool
3) it's easy to hate something you'll probably never get. Poor people hate rich people for not thinking about them, personally. Hate the system, people are still people.

I'm gonna get downvoted for this answer, but probably it's just sour grapes. People tend to adopt a negative attitude towards someone or something because they cannot have it themselves, as a defense mechanism. They know they plus they associate the look of the first girl with Instagram or TikTok, which don't have the best reputation...
For the record, I don't think the second girl is attractive at all. She seems to have rather odd features and some prognathism. She's not ugly, but more like average

I don't know. The men on here have weird tastes. They don't like girls over 5'4", girls larger than a C cup, girls with any curves whatsoever, or girls over 130 lbs. I'm not like those guys, but to each their own, I guess.
Also, MANY guys on here are just simps. Not exactly the same guys I was just talking about. Just in general. There's a ton of thirsty simps on this site.
Regarding why attractive girls look "less appealing." It's because in general, mist "conventionally attractive" girls tend to be stuck-up cunts. Their attitude sucks. But I guess when they're getting 10,000 likes a week from pathetic simps, an inflated ego swelled to the size of Jupiter would make sense for them. Attractive girls give off this stuck-up aura of arrogance about them.
Using that one picture you posted, I'd think "Yeah that girl's a solid 7.5 (cute/cute-ish), but she also looks like an arrogant bitch." Compare that to the second girl (who's also a 7, but without the excessive makeup, which puts her as "more beautiful" than the first girl), who is smiling and generally looks like a happy, sweet, kind woman who wouldn't tell you to "f*ck off" if you went up to her and said "Hi" and in fact, might be willing to even give you her number.
TL;DR: "Hot" girls come off arrogant, stuck-up, and entitled, while "cute, girl-next-door" girls come off friendly, kind, warm, and inviting. That raises their overall score, because a gorgeous-looking bitch is still a bitch.

Oh yeah there’s definitely simps, I’ve seen the most unattractive women (and I mean this collectively like overweight with makeup that looks like a clown and mascara smudged and greasy hair) get 10/10 ratings followed by the “message me if you want to know more” comment quite a few times. Anything with a vagina is praised on here. I know that sounds harsh but whoops.
And yeah I’ve heard that argument, and I definitely understand it. But not all beautiful women are bitches, most beautiful women don’t even know they’re beautiful, they’re some of the most insecure people. In reality at least. And then I’ve met average girls who are arrogant af. Point is, everyone’s different, some are stuck up, some aren’t and j kinda think it’s weird to associate beauty with a nasty personality because it’s not always the case. Plus solely speaking on looks, men still tend to pick the average one even though no other factor is supposed to be required. Like if I see a pic of a hot male model vs an average dude, I’d say “the model is hotter but I’d date the average dude,” and not “the average dude is hotter”

in general I think there are multiple separate things
- if the girl appears obviously hot and is asking how she looks people assume she's fishing for compliments and resent it. - if the girl is believably insecure but sort of cute people are happy to rush to her support. - men really do tend to prefer girls that every other guy isn't as excited about to an extent women aren't. I have suspicions this is because for most of our evolution we needed to seek out an "available" womb, not share the same amazing woman with 20 other men. - I would say most men like some makeup on real life. However the modern full "Instagram" style makeup is not loved by all men - it's pretty unnatural looking. If you then put filters over the top it starts looking like a drawing (because it is - it's just cgi) and it's not so unusual for men to find human women more attractive than cgi ones. - finally when the makeup and filters are high, whether or not men like that look, they may not think they're getting a remotely accurate view of the person on the other end - like they could be anywhere between 12 and 50, male or female, etc. Tiny suggestions something is "wrong" will be seized on.
Second girl is more attractive. 1st reason: the first girl uses way to much makeup. That by itself is a huge negative point against any woman. Of s girl has to use that much makeup in order to be "attractive", then is not to begin with. 2nd: Compare both expressions. While the first is posing "to look pretty", the second one is naturally smiling, clearly enjoying what she is doing. That is a very attractive detail for men. It tells a lot about their respective personalities, and the second one is more appealing. 3rd: Somehow you covered partially this point, they being out of our league or not. The first does look like or of our league, that is true, but she also screams "and I wouldn't even look at you, you lowly worm, for I am a goddess". The second may very well be out of our league as well, as much or even more so than the other, but you don't get that give from her, like she would not judge anyone and could go out with any of us just because. It is a different aura, the first rejecting you and the second accepting you. 4th: Here is about personal tastes, but I bet it is a general consensus nowadays. Such an artificial girl is not as attractive anymore. More natural girls are seen as more attractive.
I really do not think that is a good example as both the women are very attractive. The real answer to your question is that most men on these websites would not have a chance in hell with a very attractive women so they go with the uglier of the two in hopes that they may get lucky with one a the few women on this website. They figure the women on this website have low self esteem so they compliment them in hopes of getting lucky, AKA they are not telling the truth because they know they do not have a chance with a model type and have to settle for what they can actually get.
Lets play a little make believe game. You have 100 women and 1 guy on the entire planet. They guy has to choose 1 women from only photos. The other 99 women will vanish without a trace after he chooses. He will choose the one that he finds the most attractive. He will not choose someone obese, he will not choose someone that is 4 foot tall, he will not choose someone that is deformed, he will not choose someone that looks like a man, he will not choose someone with a flat chest. He will choose the best looking women from the photos provided. Some guys will like bigger boobs or a bigger ass but all guys are going to want a women with a hourglass figure (Boobs and Ass are bigger then the waist). I do not know a single guy that would choose a women that is obese over a women that has an hour glass figure if they had a choice. I do know a lot of guys that would choose a obese women over nothing but they are the last choice on the list.
There will be a little difference in what a guy thinks is the most beautiful but the fact remains that he will pick the best looking women. If you want a true answer then post pictures of a good looking women and a average women. The picture you posted has 2 good looking women but the second one is actually prettier then the first, she has a natural beauty that really captivates you as the first one looks made up and fake.

I like your analogy, however I thought the first girl was wayyyy more attractive than the second hence why I chose these photos, and I thought the second was just average at best. I just found her unattractive to me. These comments kinda prove my point. But because I made the imbalances of one wearing makeup and one not wearing it, I guess that’s why. I shoulda made it more fair in terms of that so yeah it wasn’t the best example. Plus ones smiling and we all know men loves smiles. Yeah your first paragraph was my theory but so many people do it that I thought it had to be something else.
Also about your comment with obese women, I actually made a poll the other day on “hourglass vs obese” although the majority said hourglass, I think about 7 men picked obese. Fat kinks aren’t that uncommon, that or they don’t like hourglasses lol. Beauty is so weird, it’s so subjective, I can’t really wrap my head around it.
I also agree the first girl is very attractive, I would fall for her in a second based on looks. The second girl is more of a girl next door, she's cute and they way her personality is makes or breaks if she's someone I would date.
If they are in their leaguage why so they need to simonin first place.
As for me what I think is two kinds of people.
1. As for me I say as is but I give explanation as in what attributes I saw while rating and number doesn't do justice so I tell them well in adavance it has no worth it's just nothing.
theyre both equally attractive to me, id find it hard to choose between one or the other given the option. i think "average" looking girls feel more approachable and less intimidating to the regular guy, so thats why they rate them higher than "conventionally" attractive women. but for real, beauty is legit in the eye of the beholder, some guys are gonna find the second girl way more attractive and vice versa. its honestly kinda silly to rate people's attractiveness on a scale from 1-10, so the first girl is not a 9 or 5 to me, and the second girl is also the same way. theyre both attractive, and id feel like a lucky guy to get to be with either of them

Ok fine maybe a 6-7 then because personally I think the average girl is a 5 or 6. I've been accused as a catfish image when I post on dating apps so maybe that’s an indication that I’m somewhat attractive
The reason why more average girls are prefered is not because men think they actually look better than girls like in the first picture. The reason behind this is because the hot girls out there are generally mischievous and often happen to bring a lot of headache to a man's life. Of course this is not absolute, but the odds of a man having such a girl on his hands are high. So as much as these are prejudices, they happen to often turn out to be true. So men tend to go for the more drama-free and high quality relationship. Hence why they tend to rate the second girl higher than the first one. Not because of looks, but because the other factors I have just mentioned.

Good take, I understand that. But like how come when someone asks a question solely based on looks, asking for no other factors, some men still choose the second girl? Is it because that since they’ve been thinking this way so long that they genuinely believe that? Or is it because most don’t read the question at hand? Because some times I just want to know the honest truth of what I look like or what someone looks like, not the potential personalities or the other factors involved. Beauty isn’t everything but I’d still like to know.
@Asker because men tend to think beyond the looks and can't help but to get other factors in that would distort the needed answers. Things like approachability and everything I have mentioned before. They just happen to bring in factors other than looks. So you will never truly get the answers you seek unless you compare girls who are in the same league to one another.
Men happen to go through a lot of rejection either from the girl or from themselves (because they think they aren't ''good enough''). So they can't help but to look to other factors outside looks. The only time you will get good answers when comparing a hot girl with an average one is asking people in person, or through DMs and make it absolutely clear that they have to rate just on looks. Even if they already have given you an answer
Well as a women I think beyond looks too, like if I had a model vs a average man in front of me (if I was single, scenario wise), I’d probably pick the average man (assuming that their personality is good) because obviously I’d be afraid of rejection as much as the next person. However with random dumb questions on an online view like this, I can still be honest and pick who’s more attractive, doesn’t mean I’ll date that one. Who you’d rather approach and date is different from who you find more attractive. I can still admit the model is a 10 and more attractive, and the average guy is average, however that doesn’t mean I’ll date the model. I just assumed I’d get good answers because this app is filled with brutal honest people
The problem with "supermodels," is they're being propped up behind lighting effects, professional makeup, and often even photo enhancement. Most guys notice this, and so while most wouldn't deny they're hot in the picture, we have serious doubts to the point we'd bet money on the fact they don't normally look the way they do outside of the studio. And yes, differing opinions on what is actually attractive is definitely a factor. You can look at most polls on here with large numbers of votes tallied and see a pretty consistent 65/35 proportionate inverse in votes between what the men and women consider attractive.
I've been friends with a woman who was a model during high school and college timeframe, and if using a 10pt scale she'd score a 9 or so in her work, she was actually more like a 6 maybe 7 in person. Actually a pretty wholesome individual at the time, in no small part because her life didn't revolve around posing for cameras.
Girls choose to look glamorous to impress other girls. Most guys see through the superficiality and are only interested in what's under the mask. I've known grown women who refuse to let their husband's see them without a full face of makeup, even sleeping in it.
Most men prefer to keep things simple. If he wants to touch or kiss her, he doesn't want to worry she'll get upset that her makeup was damaged or make a mess on something else. Being able to run his fingers through her hair, rather than encountering a stiff, shellacked helmet, does wonders for drawing a guy closer. He also appreciates her willingness to show him her real self rather than an artist's version of what she'd like to be. Natural women can appear more confident than women who want to be something they're not. It's true about other artificial enhancements, also. Natural will always feel better than artificial.

Neither are artificial though, I just chose photos that weren’t of equal value. Second girl wears makeup too but the first pic that I could find was without it and vice versa. Plus I did say by first look without any depth. Like if you think about factors like being able to touch em without messing up their makeup, that’s not what I was talking about however yeah I can understand that

Guys who are looking for something stable and meaningful long-term will generally choose natural to phony. Guys who seek glamorous girls (arm candy) are generally just trying to impress others with who they were able to catch.
First girl is "conventionally attractive" - by whose standards? Nose is a bit overly pointy, leaving her looking a bit snooty. Lips look awful far too big and not in a good/attractive way. Makeup isn't doing her any favours, is she recovering from an illness or cold?
There is no " conventionally attractive " it's all down to the person looking at them. As soon as you start being reductive to the point of over simplification on a topic that is very varied and specific, you're opening yourself up to questioning of your motives.
first girl is more attractive than the second. look at the symmetry of both of their faces. the first girl has really good and attractive symmetry while the second is just ugly. no offense if that's you in the second. but from her cheekbones to her chin is to big vertically. eyes to beedy thin horizontally nostrils to wide hair color is worse than the first girl first girl has to much makeup on like it's caked on but i would still choose the first girl over the second simply because the second girl has a weird looking shaped face

i know no one is 100% symmetrical. as far as hair color goes i've perfered brunettes to blonds but if i had to go with blond it be the girl in the first picture. but like i said hair color really depends on what the face looks like
I would say that when someone sees someone who is a model or whatever, who has practiced her poses, she can be intimidating, but another person, like the second picture, is less intimidating with a candid shot. I think they actually look pretty similar. Lighting and makeup is an art that models master, not something that non models feel is necessary, because their job is not to make the best picture. Lighting and makeup can make someone appear more "conventionally attractive" compared to a candid shot of someone. I've studied lots of stuff on modeling, since I wanted to be one, and I think that a lot of it comes down to technique. Basically, less intimidating looking, more real looking pictures might make people see the person as more beautiful.
Well here’s my opinion on this 1) is conventionally beautiful, which I feel like typical men are starting to get sick and tired of looking at. Congenital looking women are all over the internet. It’s easy to look like a 10 with a bunch of make up on, even males are starting to look conventionally beautiful with make up on!!! It’s insane. The second one looks generally happy , looks real, natural etc and although in my opinion, she isn’t a 10 in my eyes, I can see how she can be a 10 in another persons eyes. That picture exudes confidence, happiness and beauty.
Because the first looks more artificial to me and the second one more real. The reason I´d go for girl number two is the impression she leaves. While the first is undoubtable the more beautiful one she leaves a rather cold impression to me, the second girl on the other hand seems to be more positive minded and open in character two me. That´s what attracts me. I don´t a girl that looks like Kira Knightley/... if we don´t get along well that´s not going to last long. The thing you must consider is that only about 10-20% maybe of the blues on here or elsewhere has any chance at even a hello with those two. So, I can’t understand how a rating means jack-shit anything on here or anywhere for that matter. I simply don’t rate something that is out of grasp simply because in this case it is a damn photo transmitted over fiber and twisted pair. If she isn’t in front of me talking to me with willingness, what is the point of a rating? These ratings are about a false sense of smv for both sides. The first girl is simply just glammed up and covered in pounds of makeup, that doesn't make her more attractive, nor is it something most men care for.
In reality, she probably looks about as attractive as the second girl when all that washes away. Also, in reality, I would absolutely pass her up in favor of the second girl. I'm not interested in anyone who is dolled up to that extent, it just tells me that there is nothing substantial about that person's personality and that their brain is probably mostly made up of toy stuffing.
Well because men are simple they don't want to introduce new problems into their lives. And an average looking girl seems more realistic than an Instagram model.

First girl is way more attractive to me, second one I don't find attractive at all.
I don't like makeup and would prefer her without it, and as for who gets question attention, I mostly only give attention to questions I see in the feed or notifications, and 99% of those are about a topic, and have nothing to do with the person's looks.
I also tend to only bother answering a question to either correct someone, solve a problem, or answer something about a shared interest.
So things like trying to get a girlfriend on here isn't something I'm interested in (this platform lacks features for that to be likely) and as such, I rarely comment on attention whoring posts even though I like needy/clingy women.
