Do men prefer "average" looking women because they think they are easier to please?

If given the choice.. Do men typically choose the "average" looking woman over the beautiful one to be with long term? If so, is it because they think she might be easier to please in the long run? Or maybe the mans self esteem is too low to believe a beautiful woman would be loyal to him? What do you think?

Men really care about looks, & if possible, they will go for the most attractive woman they can find. The men who do get these women, may put up with them for their looks, but don't really respect them. There are some women who are stunning & have a great personality. Men who get these women are extremely happy. If a man can't get that woman, he either get's realistic expectations & goes for the average woman, or he becomes bitter & starts to hate women. I'd like to think more men get realistic, & go for women in their league. A man can be happy with the average girl, since as you say, they generally have better personalities. For the men who become bitter, they start to develop judgmental opinions about women & think they all have too high of expectations, not realizing that they themselves have too high of expectations.

"Most attractive woman" is in the eye of the beholder. My girlfriend would probably be considered average or plain by most guys, but to me she's beautiful. My standards of "hot" women aren't the same as most people, I guess. I like feminine, traditional women, and I like natural beauty, not makeup and plastic surgery (like the celebrities that most people fawn over).

Though there was one instance where I picked the average girl over the more attractive one due to my low self-esteem and lack of confidence, so it does happen with certain men.

I notice that with some attractive women that they are hard work take my friend who always flirts with me, she came out with a real corker of a sentence last week she said "I'm a very hard girl to please" and I replied "that would explain why I don't want you then" and then walked off.

I don't care how beautiful a girl I am not putting up with a girl with an attitude problem.

No, mature men don't simply value looks. In fact looks aren't the most important element. Personality is. Men want a woman who they believe will be a good life partner.

Looks come second to personality of she fits the personality aspect and we're attracted then I don't think the guy cares if someone else views her as average-looking or beautiful.

Beautiful women get attention from men a lot. Which means they have plenty to choose from. It could also mean that she becomes spoiled and start hopping from guy to guy because she can and because she's free to do so. She can get anything she wants. That's why her boyfriend will have a hard time making her happy. Therefore she doesn't need him. He's an empty space in her life.

No some really hot girls are not shallow or hard to please. Some average looking girls may be harder to please. And vice versa, but which ever way it makes me zero difference. We either vibe well or we don't.

What you seem confused about, is that men don't always rate beauty in the same way that you do.

If a guy picked another girl instead of you, it's because he's more attracted to her than he is you. Even if you don't see that or can't believe it. I promise you it's true.

Looks are I'm the top 5. But with regards to longterm you gotta think compatability. Political, religious and world views. What you want in life. Sex, if you have it then having similar sex drives and "kinks". Looks falls in there too

Men think above average women are out of their league. And women rarely initiate anything.
People OFTEN end up with someone who would rate them self the same on a scale of 10, which could be considered average.

Yeah, the prettier a girl is, the more options she has. So a lot of men aren't willing to compete over them. I'm actually secure enough to date a pretty girl, but that doesn't mean I'll put up with any bullshit from them.

From experience, "average" (hate that word when it comes to physically describing people) women tend to be more down-to-earth. Of course, there are exceptions to this.

A person can change their appearance far easier than their personality.

Yes. And they constantly came out in pieces (the males) because girls are smarter and think: "look at this poor fellow thinking Im easy because I am not a top model, but I am more beautifull than he thinks and he will have to run and run after me... but he will never catch me! :) "

Looks will fade with time, and if that's all someone has, then the relationship will crash and burn. Personality is the most important thing. Looks are a nice bonus, but shouldn't be the main reason to marry someone.

It depends. If the man is above the "average" I guess they prefer beautiful ones. But the truth is most men are about the "average", so they "must" prefer "average" looking women
