Model looking women aren't worth the trouble. Men bombard them with proposals, inflating their egos. A man must overcome all this attention to maintain her by his side. The minute she is no longer happy with him, there are many more men where he came from; the average man simply can't compete. And what model will even look at an average man?

Women that have been conventionally attractive their whole life likely aren't used to not getting their way, dealing with struggle, and potentially aren't very resilient. All these things make them seem unattractive for a relationship to a majority of men, especially long term.

Mid or average looking women, on the other hand, are very likely more down to earth and relatable. Looks truly aren't everything, and if the man enjoys her company or loves their mutual interests, he's not going to care about stretch marks or a odd mole or anything else physical like that. There is beauty in the purity of a real woman.

Models may be nice to look at by the metrics of some (or many) but mid or average girls are the real prize.

I think for a few reasons: we're so used to seeing those kinds of model-looking women all over TV and entertainment, and even on Instagram. It's the norm for American "beauty standards." So after awhile there's nothing too special about a chick who looks like every other model-looking woman.

Average looking women carry more sex appeal believe it or not. Because her average looks have a mystery of their own, and men always start imagining that she's probably a complete whore when you're alone with her, even though she may appear innocent on the outside. Ever notice how men who have gorgeous girlfriends or wives will often cheat on them with a woman who is either ugly or mediocre in looks? That's why.

There's also a psychological aspect to it too: most men feel that a model-looking woman is out of their league, so they should stick to options of getting a woman who isn't too pretty. But to be fair, a lot of model-looking women want men to feel that way and are arrogant about being beautiful and getting what they want, which is also why men won't try.

Simply because what you find average, they probably think is attractive/beautiful.

Not every guy is crazy about looks and chooses a woman based on her looks. Some guys prefers a woman with great/exceptional personality than pretty one with bland personality. It also has to do with chemistry... Vibes and how connected you feel to her. If she excites him, understands him, makes him laugh, smile and even mentally stimulates him, he would start finding her physically attractive. That's how some people get attracted to others.

Its mostly true for both genders that when you have an abundance of what's sought after by the opposite sex, you become entitled, and an asshole. For this reason, it naturally works out that those that aren't as attractive as the most attractive men or women, are more likely to have a moral compass, and a set of values that guide their actions in life. Lastly, women that aren't the most physically attractive, are more likely to be loyal, and thus tend to be taken more seriously, as men tend to already know this, at least on a subconscious level.

Because "mid" and "average" and "model" are subjective. And not everyone is a model. And sometimes looks aren't everything. And a bunch of other factors. As just one example, if there were a model who didn't make me laugh and wasn't nice to kids and was rude to servers in a restaurant, I wouldn't like them. But an average woman who did have those qualities, I would.

Cause as you get older you realize that those "model looking" women would rather spend 3 hrs. To make themselves look picture perfect rather than spend 10 minutes just trying to be a decent human being. And at the end of the day a picture can't wrap it's arms around you look deep into your soul and tell you how much you truly mean to them. They can't turn bad day you've been having right side up with just a smile.
