Have I made the wrong decision (cosmetic treatment)?

I have been feeling really bad about myself and my image; one thing lead to another, and I started to believe my facial spots and scars make me ugly, which was why I have been so unsuccessful with women (though my social anxiety is probably the bigger reason), so I booked laser pigment removal out of desperation.

My Mother isn't very happy about me planning to losing my spots, and she is very vocal about the possibility of scarring. Trouble is, I've already paid, and I can't get a refund...

I'm in that vulnerable, "I'll do anything to be accepted" phase right now.

And as a cruel twist of fate, I got two matches after months of inactivity today, and the one who responded would like to go on a date...

Should I go through with the procedure? Or Should I cut my losses and nope out/postpone?

I don't really see the issue. I think you really need to accept yourself for who you are. It's really not as bad as you think.

It's not a secret clear skin is desirable rn, along with height and fitness.

You have to talk to people I have the same problem. I met my boyfriend on Bumble and if it wasn’t for me we would have never been together

That's how I came into contact with a girl tonight. Bumble. But it takes forever to get a like as a guy online; this eventually breeds doubt, insecurity, and desperation.

Another issue are people who match but never respond. They can look really nice, but just leave you hanging. Bumble seems to fix that Hopefully that date becomes reality when the weather warms.

I'm not sure what to do about my purchase. Treatments like this cost a lot. My biggest fear is that, because they become more noticeable the closer you are, a potential partner who liked me with mask on doesn't like me with mask off.
