Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Irrespective of stereotyped ugliness that may exist, there is always someone who finds you beautiful/ handsome.

Dark skin is considered “ugly” because of white supremacy, the dehumanization of Africans, slavery and colonization. The colonizers in the name of civilization, the media, Hollywood to the world, all push a Euro Centric (fair skin, straight hair etc) as standard of beauty narrative.

So, civilization to the world, anyone light skinned is more beautiful, anything else is less. You should see the number of skin bleach and lighteners in cosmetic shops in Africa. Most of us (blacks) remain mentally enslaved in a white mans civilization.

Skin color isn't a determining factor of ugliness or attractiveness. Facial proportions definitely is.

No. I think people are unattractive because of the placement of features that are not "placed" nicely on the face, or some imbalance in the face (eyes too narrow or small, mouth too big, nose too sharp, etc). But that's my opinion.

Yes. People are more open about it in Arab and Asian countries. But in Western countries, if you check racial dating preferences, you can find that skin colour matters

Yep I'm from India here dark skin people are considered ugly even though they're in good shape but people who're overweight but light skin are considered average or decent looking than dark skin people.

But that's the case in my country I want to if it universal or people in my country are extremely racist.

Where are you getting that from? Some of the most racist people I've ever met are Arabs. I know this because I married into an Arab family. Literally faced racism from them directly and faced it when I travelled across Arab countries.

@Wraith_Cemetery There is a caste system in India, I'm sure you know or heard about. They judge by skin color, and unfortunately the darker the skin, the less chances you have in succeeding at anything there. However--- we have the same problem in America, it seems.

@Amy10223 I'm aware of the racism within a caste system. The anonymous person said there isn't as much racism in Arab and Asian countries. But there is lots of it. Even slavery still exists in some parts.

What i meant was Arabs and Asians are more open about their view that only light skin is beautiful and dark skin is ugly
. You won't find such open remarks and criticisms about your skin colour in Western countries

@Asker Oh ok, that makes sense. Sorry the misunderstanding. I agree with that definitely. They' were very open about the racism towards me. They'd say it right to my face. Westerners have racist beliefs hidden beneath the service and it would only come out in certain situations.

Isn’t that a kind of prejudice? Thinking that light skin is more beautiful than dark skin? I find that to be the same. Even if they are open about it, it seems like racial intolerance.
