I think it’s the bare minimum you can do for yourself if you’re obese (trying to lose weight or not) to put effort into not being sloppy— wearing clothes that fit, good grooming regimens, etc. even if uncomfortable or more work because of size. It might be comfortable to wear sweats but that’ll just enable you and make things worse.
What people choose to wear is not up for you to decide. Some people do not have enough money for that and it’s unfortunate that people like you will judge your life away without being sympathetic/optimistic as to why someone might not put effort into their appearance. I am in the field of dietetics and being obese itself is a psychological issue with majority of people of the world on top of not being able to secure nutritious food. Stop being judgmental and honestly just mind your own business. Learn ways to better yourself and not humiliate others that don’t fit your “look” standards. You don’t know these people
Lol do you ask this same question about people that aren't obese? Because being sloppy is not weight thing. Wear ill fitting clothes is also not just a weight thing. Wearing sweats is not just a weight thing. So unless you have an issue with ANYBODY that is unkempt and doesn't carry themselves well, then it's not those things that bother you. It's simply them being overweight. And at the end of the day, they don't owe you anything.
I don't care how unkempt or overweight you are as long as you don't start to demand from to love and adore the way you look

Yeah. I've been skinny and I've been fat. And let me tell you what I've learned. Women like neither version of me lol. I have no reason to stay in shape and I would just take the easy way out and be a fat bastard. Unfortunately that shortens your life span. Which is the ONLY reason I'm not Jabba the hut. Lol
@kyleelyn199723 As always I appreciate your insight, are you a scientist? I am not I just follow the news on it. There is loads of evidence, that it affects it and can work both ways, both to prevent weight gain and cause it. It can still be worked around though, but someone with the FTO gene or others that cause problems may have to work twice as hard as someone without it to not gain weight or to lose it. Research shows they need to eat 60% of the calories as those without it to not gain weight.
@dragonpurple I am not a scientist but I am a dietitian and one of the first things we were taught is there is no such thing as genetics linked to obesity. Obesity has to do with how much food you consume. Now if you said something like “depression is a genetic illness that can make a family obese” I can agree with that, but there’s no such thing as a gene that automatically makes people obese.
I tend to gain weight when my mental health is at its worst. No fucking way would I have the energy to do anything but the bare minimum to survive, much less use that energy to "look good" when I feel like shit. Even getting out of bed is a battle.
Why are you worrying about their appearance? Worry about your own

Of course- because they don't WANT to. What makes you think that people owe you a pleasant countenance to look at? What have YOU done for THEM that you're in a position to make demands?

I think that when someone gets that obese they stop caring because they know their chances of finding a good man is practically nil, so they figure why bother.

Maybe they don't have the material and spiritual means. Maybe they have no motivations. You have to leave people alone now. :)
