I was once 260 pounds about 8 months ago I am now about 210 pounds and I have more energy than ever before. I feel so much better about my self. I look younger, I'm doing things i could never have done before. Why can't these fat people do the work and get healthier? Yet time and time again I have to hear fat people telling everyone that it's perfectly normal to be obese! Wtf is wrong with the world?

To the last paragraph, because surgery is mimicking the appearance of good health.
Same as taking androgenic steroids, only the very healthy people with extremely clean diets without pesticides, while leading active lifestyles have naturally high testosterone, artificially raising testosterone makes you look like one of the healthier people.
The reason though some people don't change diets, which no one here has mentioned, is often... beliefs. Just like religion, you may present all the facts and evidence and it won't work to change one's mind. In this case, it just takes time for them to realize on their own that their beliefs don't work and they will look for something else.
There's no doubt that medications can put a hold on fat burning. And cause fat storage. Even natural causes which are deemed "healthy" with no proportions.. like prolactin. Have you researched the metabolic effects of prolactin? It appears as if prolactin stops fat burning while increasing hunger. While health experts encourage cooming as much as you can... besides the act of cooming itself raising prolactin, there is a term "dad bod".. because nurturing father's prolactin skyrockets.
Reproduction is pleasurable and even addicting... and via elevated prolactin, it is fattening... therefore, it's a tight link between pleasure, addiction, and fattening, all through prolactin, which is how amphetamines create euphoria.
The reason I added this is that we know medications can cause fattening, no doubt, as even something natural like becoming a parent causes fattening. So, choose your medications wisely, sometimes people just don't like hearing the facts. The truth is that antidepressants often cause fat gain and destroy your testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, as well as growth hormone levels.
Ironically, as someone recently even posted a screenshot about their email to the admins on this site, antidepressants are commonly taken because they are obese, since obesity fucks with your biochemistry directly besides making you physically unattractive. I always had my comments removed by angry moderators when I mentioned that certain fat burning drugs are safer than antidepressants long term for overall health and longevity, as are anabolic steroids safer than antidepressants if used correctly, and usually they also improve your mood. Like, how many guys are depressed and have low T at the same time? Instead of taking antidepressants, maybe they should elevate their T levels accordingly.
So, after acknowledging that the discomfort is necessary, like an addict quitting, the fastest way to lose fat would be to simply fast, exercise, and administer muscle sparing chemicals, be it leucine-derived amino acids or actual androgens. Of course take the magnesium and all the shit daily... a less popular in sports cool supplement is niacinamide that increases androgen receptor activity.
Just have to throw it out there, if you consider taking AAS look into their safety profiles, don't take the cheapest whatever that a gym bro offers to you. Some might make your condition worse. It can be tremendously helpful I believe, if you are over 400 lbs and diet and exercise are impossible for being soooooo faaaaat, kickstart your fat loss with synthetic drugs. After one mild AAS cycle, nearly all men recover their natural testes function after a few months. In between one can do post cycle therapy which could even consist of cheap non prescription herbs, as some people swear... there are very effective ones.. like pine pollen, although it has like micrograms or maybe even nanograms of testosterone per gram of raw powder, something else in it works... that makes you feel invincible, motivated, with raging boners that make you want to fuck satan to death. . and a list of others some of which I confirm work, while others newly researched I have not tested as of yet, I have not taken AAS and never was fat, and yet these herbs work on me, despite many saying that "they don't elevate you above good levels and only work to bring you up if you're already lacking". The way you use herbs is you get at least 4 different ones but preferably more, and take one for each day, rotating so that you take each herb no more than once every 4 days so it has time to leave your body and you regain sensitivity... some compounds stay in your system for longer. Taking them every day, they'd only work on day 1, then you build tolerance and waste the product. Actually I believe the reason these herbs work for me is because I am somewhat low in T because I'm too lean. Having bought many kilograms of very high quality supplements, they allow me to have high dick function and muscle strength despite being too lean to function naturally.
To lose fat, get familiar with discomfort, such as jumping into ice baths. Besides fasting while taking muscle sparing compounds, ice baths might be the most effective fat burner. I wonder how difficult it is to exercise when you are 400 pounds fat, is exercise even possible? But cold exposure works even if you have no ability to move around. I can sit under ice for half an hour and feel no discomfort, only shortly after leaving the water I begin to shiver, and I have to exercise to put off the shivering. Cold seems to suppress the fattening pleasure seeker's hormone prolactin 1 , 2. Because, obviously, taking fat burning drugs, let's say caffeine for example, doesn't do that much for you unless you put the energy into something. It might increase a bit of involuntary fidgeting and body temperature, shit like that which won't make you drop 100lb in a year, unless you're fasting altogether for the whole year.

The body positivity movement (fat acceptence) has been attemping to "reclaim health" from physical fitness. The movement itself is not concerned with ridgid rules surrounding diet and exercise plans, but with self-care, self-love, forgive and accepting mistakes. Also declaring your own authentic beauty by rejecting the cultural beauty ideal. The physically fit have embodied the ideal image of human perfection, speed, agility strength, beauty etc. . Body positivity has created the tools so individuals can declare their own ideal of beauty, reject the common ideal, and seize the means of cultural beauty for themselves.
It's not so much an escape from reality but a seizing of reality, and an attempt to change it with magical word sorcery. As is standard operating procedure for critical theory, instead of attaining it for themselves, they want to re-define it so that it does not reflect the apparent oppressive beauty standards present in the west.
i work in healthcare-- it is not always diet and lack of exercise causing weight issues but metabolic reasons, side effects of medications etc. in some occasions.
on the flip side you were one of "those fat people", one could say what took you so long to lose weight? or if you knew that then why were you even heavy in the first place?
most people who have lost weight as you did will also put it back on in time. i have seen people who have had restricted diets or weight loss surgery and put the weight back on or never lost more then a few pounds. its because they are not getting to the root issue of their food addiction and patterns. while again some people it is just known habits from childhood, laziness or general attitude of not caring. also how cheap and convenient fast food and junk food are. many factors.
you even have what is called skinny fat where a skinny person is so outta shape they might as well be 400 pounds. just because a person is thin in no way means they are healthy or in shape.
why does the world accept overly surgical looks as beauty? or guys using steroids to bulk up as cool? basically what i have learned is worry about yourself in life and just because you have done something doesn't mean you know the next persons story or reasons for how they are. this society these days pushes lots of unhealthy things via media and social media.

Apart from medical reasons , only reason is Laziness and lack of will to say NO to tasty junk foods
It can also be denial which makes them believe "Being fat is healthy" or they come up with the excuse " Being skinny isn't healthy"
