Why are there separate razors for men and women when their job is the same, ie: to shave off the hair?

Money. There's a marketing-driven demand to have "women's" versions of many products that are often just the same, but with a different shape or color.

Now, in fairness, there might actually BE some difference in razors; I certainly wouldn't know. Men's razors are going over more sensitive skin, in a (typically) much smaller area, and they usually don't demand the same level of thoroughness in hair removal, since it grows back faster and they'll likely need to shave it again tomorrow anyway. For that matter, hair on one's face is often going to be much denser than on one's legs; there may well be reasons for different razor types- though whether that actually translates to real differences is another question.

It seems to me that if you really wanted to know, experimenting would show you easily enough.

I think is because men's hair is usually thicker than women's hair and they need a stronger razor.

So what harm would happen if a woman shaves with a stronger men's razor?

Well, I've tried before and cut myself. You need to be careful when you use a stronger razor.

Firstly, money.
Secondly, some women believe they need items exclusive to women.
Thirdly, I think some razors for women are made slightly differently so they're more gentle. Maybe I'm pulling the last one out of my ass. I just know I've been shaving with the same blades for month's now.

Cheap answer because the skin of men and women is different so women need a smoother razor than guys.
My own theory to make money because women are used to paying for any hygiene products they are charged off for that too and at far as I know even more than guys do.

Despite the fact that the razors look similar they function differently.

Women's razors are sharper but they don't last nearly as long whereas men's razors are generally more dull but have a longer life span.

When men shave they don't need to have it super smooth so the duller razors work just fine

Beacuse blade are using in razor is according to hair texture. Girls have thin hair because they are using for body hairs but men are using for facial hair which is far thiker then body hair. On thicker hair blade is worn out more fastly. Hope you get your answers.

I always used to use the women's razors because I have sensitive skin on my face. I don't think there's a lot of difference though except the color.

I used women's Gillette disposable razors and they rust easily but are sharp. I used men's and find they get dull and you only get a few shaves. Pretty much it's marketing to both men and female. Think of the same with shaving cream, shampoo, hair products, etc.

Men can use a lady's razor, but women can't use a man's razor- or at least not as comfortably.

A true lady's razor will have a longer handle than a men's razor, which is intended for shaving a man's face and not his legs.

Because men and women are typically shaving different parts of their bodies, so the angle of the blades is different.

Men's razors are designed to cut more aggressively than women's razors, so I imagine that it probably would work fine, yes.

To make more money; the woman tax is a very real thing. Also, in theory, the gentler angling of the blades on women's razors allows for longer pulls when shaving. That's supposed to make shaving your legs more comfortable when you have softer, more sensitive skin. Men's razors are cheaper though... so my understanding is that most women just buy men's razors.
