What’re your thoughts on word tattoos that have 0 meaning to that person?

My friend got her first tattoo recently and it’s just a random word she thought was pretty, the word “delicate”. No meaning behind it, nothing. Now it’s her body and I don’t have a say, and she’s my close friend so I don’t wanna be rude but I genuinely think it’s just so random and unnecessary. It’s in an awkward place too, just in the middle of her thigh but she was so excited I didn’t wanna say anything. Maybe I’m stupid, are these cute?

I’m aware most of y’all don’t like tattoos in general but I think small cute ones are nice, like a small flower or smt like that. Words are just a big no for me personally.

Don’t like tats to begin with. Seems like something for aborigines. They’re about attention grabbing for many. Delegating their voice to their skin. Wouldn’t you rather we talk about your message organically rather than draw attention to your body? <-This is where women are again especially stupid, or it’s intentional. Do not complain about guys not giving a shit about what you say when you dress like skanks and have ink tatted everywhere. You yourselves don’t respect your own voice, that’s probably why you lash out because you’re getting a lot of attention you don’t want, and a lot of it is your fault.

Think about the future consequences. What if you tattoo something on you that you change your mind about? Tattoos can stretch over the years depending on where you get it, what if the message distorts to being illegible or it enlarges? It goes from being a small message to a giant 24/7 billboard on your body that endorses something you don’t like. There are too many negatives.

Not every tattoo has to have some big special meaning behind it. The simple meaning can be that the person really likes the look of it and that’s perfectly fine.
You like small flower tattoos, she likes the word. No reason to let it affect you.
The important thing here is that she likes it and wanted it. 🙂

Never said it affected me, she asked my opinion on it and I just didn’t know what to say is all. She my closest friend and friends should be honest but I didn’t wanna come off as mean. And not necessarily she was originally gonna get a flower tattoo so it also took me by surprise. Yeah I knows it not my body so who cares and it doesn’t have to have a meaning, I was just curious on y’all’s opinions too.

But that word does have meaning ti her then the meaning is "beautiful" to her.
A guy I used to work with for several years. We'd get into philosophical debates in our downtime. He kind of believed in an amalgamation of religions. And wanted to get a tattoo that reflected that. I half jokingly said, "You should get, No religion has a monopoly on salvation". Much to my chagrin he liked it. I told him "don't do that". He say "why". I said because because people are funny about their religion. People will read that and take it as a challenge. And he's a pretty peaceful guy. He went and got it done anyhow. I wish I had never jokingly suggested
that to him.

I look at tattoos as being a way of telling your history. If it doesn't say something about yourself then it's stupid and pointless. If there's a meaning behind it something important to you then I find them cool. Matter of fact if I were to be in a relationship with someone I would much prefer be in a relationship with someone who has at least one tattoo

In my opinion, tattoos ALWAYS make a woman less attractive. They NEVER make her more attractive. The more she has or the larger they are, the less attractive she is.

She specifically said it… I asked and she said “no who even gets tattoos for meanings anymore. The word is just pretty in calligraphy lollll” and nah if there was a meaning she’d tell me, we’re like sisters
